'The Masked Singer' Season 3: Fans think it's rapper Bow Wow in Frog's mask as judges say Ludacris, child actor
‘The Masked Singer’ is undoubtedly one of the biggest shows on TV at the moment. The format of the show is fresh and unique and it seems to have clicked with the audiences. With two seasons down and the third one currently on air, it is safe to say that the series is a hit amongst fans who take to twitter week after week religiously with their guesses as to who the ‘masked’ singer could be.
This week it was Group B consisting of Miss Kitty, Banana, Taco and The Frog who took to stage to secure their spots in the Top 9. Fans, as usual, took to Twitter and made guesses after each performance. The first one on stage was Miss Kitty and various names like Kristen Bell, Taylor Momsen, Leighton Meester to Christina Ricci and Mandy Moore popped up online. Emma Watson's name came up a couple of times as well. It is safe to say that the internet has not come to a consensus about the identity of Miss Kitty.
The same goes for the judges who all agreed that identifying Miss Kitty is going to be a task. Taco and Banana took to stage later and then came the last performance of the night where The Frog took to stage amongst much cheer from the judges and the studio audience.
Before his performance, in the clue package, The Frog spoke about how he was 'too legit to quit'. He also introduced an invisible woman who has been instrumental since his career jumpstarted. An invisible woman who identifies as The Frog's team member appeared on screen and went on to speak about him at length. "I have known him since he was a tadpole. I knew immediately he would be a superstar" This led to Ken Jeong thinking if The Frog could be a child actor.
"I looked out for him when he was in LA. Even then he had an entourage. I took him to his first late-night show. It was way past his bedtime but he was cool, calm and collected, way beyond his years. Life hasn't always been easy for him but he persevered and paved the way for so many people, I couldn't be more proud", she concluded.
It was showtime now, and The Frog took to the stage and brought the house down with The Gap Band's song 'You Dropped a Bomb on Me.' All the judges along with the studio audience were on their feet during the entire performance. The performance earned him a lot of praise from the judges. Nicole Scherzinger, who seemed very happy with what she saw mentioned, "Oh my God, Frog, you kill it. You are such a natural performer I am so happy. You truly embody and embrace the character." She also went on to say she feels he's this season's fox (Season 2 winner) and that he could win this thing.
The Frog gave his friendship bracelet to T-Pain which said 'all we do is win' which led to the record producer immediately thinking if this could be Ludacris as they have a song named 'All I Do is Win' together. Ken Jeong went with Tommy Davidson for his guess as to who Frog could be. Robin Thicke weighed in with Omarion as his guess and T-Pain chimed in saying "I am doing a song with Omarion and I have been texting him while I've been up here. Every time that frog is up here he stops texting."
Fans took to Twitter with their guesses as well. A name that consistently came up was of rapper Bow Wow. "The frog on the masked singer is bow wow", tweeted a fan. "We all know the frog is bow wow like seriously #maskedsinger", wrote another user. "Calling it now Lil Bow Wow is the Frog #maskedsinger", tweeted another fan. Other guesses like Usher, Chris Brown, Bruno Mars and Morris Day have also popped up.
