AUSTRALIA: Boggles, a Twitch streamer has been banned from participating in any future Dreamhack events due to his recent misbehavior. He was seen spraying deodorant on competitors in the arena as a joke during the most recent Dreamhack event, which took place in Melbourne.

Although he was not charged immediately, ESL Australia, the Dreamhack organizers, became aware of the event after Boggles shared a video of his prank on May 7. He is a modest Australian content creator with 1,600 Twitch followers, had to face online hostility after the incident.

Boggles banned from Dreamhack

Boggles shared the video of the prank on his Twitter handle. He captioned the video saying, "Spraying Gamers with Deodorant at DreamHack *PREMIERING NOW JOIN UP*" Despite the fact that pranks are a popular internet content genre, some creators exploit them in ways that cause difficulties or disrupt people's daily lives. According to the organisers, Boggles' recent prank falls into this category.

ESL Australia confirmed Boggles' ban from all future events in a tweet, describing his behavior as a safety threat and a disservice to the participant's experience. ESL Australia wrote, "We love it when our community creates content at our events, but that content should uplift the gaming community, not denigrate it, and it should never risk anyone's safety. Some of you may have recently seen creator content that does not abide by these simple guidelines."

It added, "Individuals who create content at the expense of others, and who potentially risk the safety of others in the course of doing so, will most likely find themselves unwelcome at future events we hold. In this instance, action has been taken."

Boggles apologizes after ban

The YouTuber and Twitch streamer addressed the situation and apologised for spraying deodorant through a video on Twitter. He captioned the video, "BANNED FROM DREAMHACK (Apology video)." He went on to say that if someone had been harmed or had a headache as a result of his conduct, he would have understood ESL Australia's decision. However, because no such incidence occurred, he considered the sentence was excessive. He also stated that the original video was 20 minutes long and that the organisers only saw 10 seconds of it, meaning that most of the footage was removed from context.
