In 1952, Marilyn Monroe met Cass Chaplin, son of the legendary personality Charlie Chaplin, and Edward Robinson Jr at LA Actors’ Circle. However, they were indirectly trying to tell her that having a child will dent her chances to become a bigger star. So, he created doubts in her mind that she should abort the baby.

The situation became worse when DiMaggio began to hurt her physically and mentally. In October 1954, after returning back to Los Angeles after filming in New York City, Monroe filed for divorce from DiMaggio citing reasons of “mental cruelty”.
