LAKEWOOD, COLORADO: A woman who recently went viral for screaming and hurling racial abuses at a Latino family during a pool party in Lakewood, Colorado, was reportedly deemed bankrupt a few years ago. Blair Featherman apparently lost her temper at the family over their unawareness about Hermes, a luxury goods firm. The footage of her alleged abusive behavior was shared online by a woman, who reportedly stated, “According to this Karen all Mexicans are low class. I hope this video is found by her coworkers, family, and friends. Acting like this at a family BBQ with children is absolutely disgusting.”

“It’s so sad when you're racially profiled just because of your skin color. We received so much support from the last video posted. Let's keep comments appropriate so we can continue to spread awareness. Justice will be served when we receive an apology (which we still haven't),” she added.

Blair Featherman’s money issues

However, now DailyMail.com citing court documents reported that the 49-year-old woman filed for bankruptcy in 2019 after being left with $100 in her checking account and $20 in cash. It has also been said that she made $14,088 in 2018 and $42,670 a year before that. Not just that, the mother-of-two even got $31,200 in 2018 in child support and $37,440 in 2017.

The publication noted that Featherman “claimed $1,440 in unemployment in 2018”, “$57, 263 in student loans”, and “owed the IRS $17,000 in federal income taxes and the Colorado Department of Revenue $1,500,” along with over $39,000 in lawyer fees. Besides, she was in debt to a payday loan firm, the cost of a returned check, and several credit card companies. But last year in June, her bankruptcy case was concluded.

‘Maybe it's time to educate yourself’

Meanwhile, Master's Gallery Denver, former employer of Featherman, has slammed her in a statement. It said, “It has come to our attention that a former employee has appeared on social media expressing hateful and offensive statements. Master's Gallery Denver has not employed this individual for over 5 years and condemns any actions or statements expressing hatred or racism. We represent and support artists and people of all backgrounds and will continue to do so.”

Besides, a lot of people have called Featherman out online. A user tweeted, “Wow, Karen really out here demonstrating her ignorance in Lakewood. How pathetic must one be to harass a family just for having a pool party? Newsflash, diversity exists, Karen. Maybe it's time to educate yourself and learn some manners.”

Another user wrote, “Colorado would be such an amazing state if it weren’t for the racists and religious kooks there.” “Nearly 30% of the population in Mexico are Americans. The music is good, the food is better, and the people are warm and more family oriented than Americans— better manners for sure! This troubled woman clearly missed a great opportunity for the party!” the third one added.
