Black Marriage Day 2023: History, theme and 3 ways to celebrate occasion
Black Marriage Day is annually celebrated on March 26 to highlight the beauty of marriages in Black communities and to honor partners for their fidelity and sacrifices. To ensure that children are nurtured in a secure and healthy environment, the goal is to establish links within families and the community.
In 2021, there were more than 300 communities participating, up from 30 in the beginning. It encourages people to create healthy relationships and challenges the idea of weak and unstable marriages.

History of Black Marriage Day
Nisa Muhammad, the founder of the Wedded Bliss Foundation, created Black Marriage Day in 2003 to promote healthy relationships among Black youths, singles and couples, per National Today. It is observed in city halls, community centers, institutions of worship and other metropolitan areas.
What is the theme for Black Marriage Day 2023?
The objective of Black Marriage Day 2023 is to promote safe and healthy communities by recognizing strong families and the theme for this year is 'Count Your Marriage as Joy', according to Wedded Bliss Foundation.

It is said that a great marriage is about love, commitment, respect and friendship. Here are three ways you can celebrate National Black Marriage Day, per NATIONAL TODAY.

It is never too late to make a fresh start. Reaffirm your commitment to your partner.
