Who is Lamor Miller-Whitehead? Rolls Royce-driving NYC bishop robbed in $400K jewelry heist during sermon
BROOKLYN, NEW YORK CITY: Three masked gunmen robbed a flashy Brooklyn bishop in the middle of his live-streamed service on Sunday, July 24, as they came rushing in with guns and fled with jewelry worth almost $400,000. Bishop Lamor Miller-Whitehead was in the middle of his sermon at the Leaders of Tomorrow International Ministries in Canarsie, when he was apprehended by the gunmen at around 11.14 am.
Whitehead was dressed in a maroon suit, with a gold chain, and a large ring on each of his fingers. His attire was accompanied by a gold-trimmed collar and sleeve cuffs. The robbery suspects fled East on Avenue D after taking $400,000 worth of jewelry from Whitehead, his wife and possibly churchgoers, according to police.

Whitehead previously made headlines when he pulled up in a Rolls Royce to negotiate the surrender of Andrew Abdullah, 25, in the fatal shooting of Goldman Sachs employee Daniel Enriquez. However, the police still nabbed Abdullah at the Legal Aid Society offices in Manhattan. The Legal Aid Society further claimed that Abdullah was ready to turn himself in before he was "needlessly ambushed out front of our Manhattan Trial Office by City Marshalls, denied of his opportunity to first consult with counsel." Right before he noticed the gunmen, he was saying, "How many of you have lost your faith because you saw somebody else die?" Who is Lamor Miller-Whitehead?
The Leaders of Tomorrow International Churches define Whitehead as a "dynamic preacher, motivational speaker, social activist, community leader," and an "entrepreneur." He was born in Brooklyn, New York, and was raised by his mother after his father, Arthur Miller, a politician and a community activist, was murdered. The website claims that he was strangled by 16 officers which resulted in his "untimely and unjust death." Whitehead was only six months old at the time. The website further claims that his preaching and teachings "focuses on empowering believers spiritually, developing them educationally, exposing them culturally, activating them politically and strengthening them economically."
Whitehead finished high school as a celebrated athlete and scored athletic scholarships with Shaw University, Farmingdale University, and Eastern New Mexico University, where he studied Accounting and Videography. He attended New York Theological Seminary and completed his studies with a certificate in Ministry in Human Services from the Theological Institution of Rising Hope Inc. Moreover, he is a licensed New York State Chaplain and a certified marriage & funeral officiant. With the support of 43 people, he founded the Leaders of Tomorrow Ministry in Brooklyn, NYC, in 2013. The suspects who robbed him on Sunday, July 24, are still at large and the investigation is ongoing.
