Winning an award is always precious, but celebrating someone else’s victory is a mark of a true champion. We saw a lot of actors and actresses winning an award at the 78th edition of the Golden Globes on Sunday, February 28, but the true winner of the night was Bill Murray, who went viral as soon as he appeared on the screen wearing a Hawaiian shirt and holding a glass of martini.

As Laura Dern took the stage to present the Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture award, she went through all the nominees and congratulated them for the nominations. All the nominees were dressed in awards-show-appropriate attire and then there was Murray, who seemed to be having a good Sunday night.

Instead of wearing a tuxedo or any fancy attire, Murray, who was nominated for 'On the Rocks' decided to keep it casual and showed up in a simple Hawaiian shirt as Daniel Kaluuya took home the accolade for ‘Judas and The Black Messiah’. The actor sported a vibrant shirt that was literally painted with every color that the viewers could imagine.

As Kaluuya ended his acceptance speech and raised a glass of champagne to all the other nominees, Murray raised his glass for the second time as he celebrated Kaluuya’s victory with a huge smile on his face.

Social media was totally digging Murray’s look and did not leave any stone unturned in making his outfit go viral. One of the users said: “I would have given the award to Bill Murray just for being Bill Murray.” Another user noted: “Bill Murray wearing a Hawaiian shirt sipping a martini is what I want to see on awards show #GoldenGlobes.” Meanwhile, one of the Twitter users simply labeled him a “legend.”

The look resonated with the people and they believed that this is the kind of energy that everybody needs to have in their lives. How did you like Murray’s look?

As far as the Golden Globes are concerned, Chloe Zhao’s ‘Nomadland’ took home the Best Picture award and also became the first Asian woman to win the Best Director accolade. Late actor Chadwick Boseman won the Best Actor in a Motion Picture (Drama) for ‘Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom’. He is only the second actor after Peter Finch to win the lead actor award posthumously. Finch won the accolade for his role in 1976’s ‘Network’.
Meanwhile, Andra Day took home the Best Actress prize for ‘The United States vs Billie Holiday’.

The 78th Golden Globes were handed out in a virtual ceremony that was telecast on February 28 at 8 pm ET. Hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, this year’s ceremony took place at two different locations, making it the first bicoastal event in the show’s history.
