Since the beginning of this season, Kim Wexler (Rhea Seehorn) and Saul Goodman have been doing everything to carve out a successful plan in bringing Howard Hamlin down. They started with small moves like planting cocaine on Howard and making sure that Cliff was there to notice that. But things got pretty intense when Saul (Bob Odenkirk) decided to steal Howard’s car and put him in jeopardy by throwing a prostitute out of his car to know Cliff what Howard has become.

But, the time has come for one final shot and they need to be very précised if they need to win this battle. It’s the final stage of the plan and the plan is to take Howard (Patrick Fabian) by surprise. In the previous episode of ‘Better Call Saul’ Season 6, Kim showed Saul a photo of Judge Rand Casimiro in the newspaper and felt that he could be the one that might take them over the line.

Now, we don’t know what the actual plan is, but we do know that Kim and Saul have waited for this moment for years now and there’s no backing down. When Kim arrives at Saul’s new office, she finds out that they are using a body double of Judge Casimiro and clicking his photographs with all the make-up. At this moment, Kim tells Saul that she might be attending an event at the Jackson Mercer Foundation where she might get a chance to meet some people and move ahead in her career.

Saul is so excited for his wife, but Kim is feeling a bit anxious because the event happens on the “D-Day” of their plan. Saul tells Kim to not worry about anything because he’ll take care of everything and she just needs to prepare for the big event. Everything was going as per the plan, but Saul just found out something that will completely destroy everything for them. So, he goes to a liquor shop to buy an expensive bottle of liquor and he is standing in the line, suddenly he spots Judge Carisimo with a cast on his left hand. As soon as he sees that, he panics and leaves the store. He is frustrated because the pictures they have taken are without the cast and it will blow up everything.

He calls Kim and tells her everything. Saul tells her that they are aborting the mission and they will resume the plan with some other plan. Kim looks nervous at first, but decides to take the matter into her hands and says, “Screw it, it happens today”. This means, that Kim is adamant that the plan will be initiated today and there’s no chance that they are back down. Does that mean Kim will put her career on the line to help her husband and burn Howard to the ground? Even though, she mentioned sometime earlier that whatever she is today, it is because of Howard.

It was the penultimate episode and next week, it’s going to be the mid-season finale. So, we are finally going to find out what they will be doing to get themselves ahead in the race. Also, what changes they’ll make to the plan will also be really interesting to see. They are panicking and when you panic, you might make some mistakes and Howard is waiting for that to happen.

Kim and Saul are literally walking down a dangerous path and the next move will tell if they would be able to continue or not.

'Better Call Saul' Season 6 returns to AMC with a new episode every Monday at 9 PM EST.
