Ben Shapiro trolls Don Lemon for saying ‘justice was served’ for Derek Chauvin, Internet calls him ‘absolute idiot’
American conservative political commentator Ben Shapiro has taken a dig at CNN’s Don Lemon over Derek Chauvin’s verdict. He commented on a post on Twitter that read, “CNN's Don Lemon: ‘Justice has been served.’” Shapiro responded by saying, “And we all know he would never have said this had the reverse verdict been reached.”
This comes after the former Minneapolis officer was convicted of all charges on Tuesday, April 20, including second-degree murder, third-degree murder, and second-degree manslaughter, in connection to the death of George Floyd, who died on May 25, 2020. Chauvin was charged with the killing of the African-American man after he knelt on his neck for over nine minutes despite him repeatedly saying, “I can’t breathe.”

Chauvin along with other officers arrived at the scene last year to arrest Floyd after it was alleged that he used a fake $20 bill at a store. And, now since Chauvin has been convicted, it has been reported that the trial of the other cops -- J Alexander Kueng, Thomas Lane, and Tou Thao - will start later this year. The trio is facing aiding and abetting second-degree murder charges.
Meanwhile, after Shapiro's comment on Lemon, the internet was not quite happy with the former as one user tweeted, “Because, like everyone else in America, he watched Derek Chauvin literally squeeze the life from George Floyd But if you truly believe justice would have been served with a verdict of not guilty on all counts, Ben Shapiro Have the guts to come out and say it.” Another user said, “Why would he say justice had been served if a man who murdered someone walked free? You're the stupidest person in the world, Ben. Actually, your wife is, because she's f**king someone who can't get her wet.”

Have the guts to come out and say it
Why would he say justice had been served if a man who murdered someone walked free? You're the stupidest person in the world, Ben. Actually, your wife is, because she's fucking someone who can't get her wet.

“You are an absolute idiot,” a comment on the social media platform read. A person remarked, “The reverse wouldn't have been justice because the facts wouldn't have supported it. A half-man once said…” Another joked, “Don Lemon: ‘Tampa Bay won the Super Bowl’ Ben Shapiro: ‘And we all know he would never have said this had the reverse score been reached.’” “Well, because the reverse verdict wouldn’t have been justice, Ben. It would have been approval for the state to execute suspects without due process. It’s not complicated," wrote a user.

It’s not complicated.
Minutes before mocking Lemon, Shapiro had also said on Twitter: “Regardless of the verdict, the fact that the entire country knows that cities will burn if Chauvin isn't convicted is a deep indictment of the state of the country.” And in return, he mostly received negative attention from the people on the internet. A person said, “The fact that a black man was intentionally asphyxiated by an agent of the state, in full view of witnesses & recorded on video, and we still have to worry whether he will be acquitted is a deep indictment of the state of the country.” Another user added, “Not as bad as the mass shootings we have everyday because Republicans won’t ban assault weapons and vote for background checks! Oh, and they’ll be some looting maybe, like there is with any protest in this country, but I’m sure that’s all Fox News will show over and over!”
