Ben Shapiro ALMOST calls out Kanye West for antisemitic comments
Ben Shapiro, the Jewish founder of DailyWire, said he "radically disagrees" with conservative firebrand Candace Owens and rapper Kanye West over the latter's antisemitic tweets, but will continue to work with them because he promotes "open disagreement."
Shapiro, 38, chimed in on the issue Thursday, October 13, after facing criticism for allowing West, 45, to attend the premiere of Owens' documentary 'The Greatest Lie Ever Sold'. The film was produced by DailyWire and accuses the Black Lives Matter organization of misappropriating millions of dollars. Owens, 33, has defended West ever since he was "canceled" for tweeting he wanted to go "death con 3 on Jewish people."

Shapiro explained in a live video Thursday why he hadn't severed ties with Owens and West. "What he said is antisemitic. Pure, rote antisemitism," he said. "I do not think it is possible to defend it. Candace and I disagree on a wide variety of topics. One of the features not the bugs of DailyWire+ is that we openly disagree about all of this stuff. I share my opinions, she shares hers. We battle it out." The right-wing commentator chalked up the Grammy winner's outburst on mental health issues. "The real answer is Kanye is a bipolar human being. Bipolar people tend to say extraordinarily bizarre and ugly things," Shapiro added, "There's a difference between somebody saying cohesively what Kanye West said, and Kanye West saying things in broken grammar in the midst of what appears to be a bizarre period of his life."

Owens was one of the first to sound the alarm on JP Morgan Chase ending its relationship with West about a month ago as his relationships with Gap and Adidas fell apart. "We are sending this letter to confirm our recent discussion with [associate's name] that JP Morgan Chase Bank has decided to end its banking relationship with Yeezy, LLC, and its affiliated entities," the bank wrote in a letter. "We ask that you promptly transfer your business to another financial institution before November 21, 2022." The bank, however, did not explain why it cut ties with the music and fashion mogul.
Earlier today I learned that @kanyewest was officially kicked out of JP Morgan Chase bank. I was told there was no official reason given, but they sent this letter as well to confirm that he has until late November to find another place for the Yeezy empire to bank. pic.twitter.com/FUskokb6fP

West ended his relationship with Gap and Adidas in September after publicly disparaging his respective partnerships with them. "We are proud of our team that has worked tirelessly throughout our collaboration with Ye and the iconic products that were born from it," Adidas said in a statement last week. "We also recognize that all successful partnerships are rooted in mutual respect and shared values. After repeated efforts to privately resolve the situation, we have taken the decision to place the partnership under review."

Twitter suspended West's account after he tweeted last weekend, "I'm a bit sleepy tonight but when I wake up I'm going death con 3 On JEWISH PEOPLE." He later added, "The funny thing is I actually can't be Anti Semitic because black people are actually Jew also. You guys have toyed with me and tried to blackball anyone who opposes your agenda."
After attending Owens' premiere last night, West told reporters that he felt "happy to have crossed the line of that idea so that we can speak openly about things like getting canceled from the bank." He added, "People use the antisemite idea to cover up bad business. To say if you call someone out on bad business then you're being antisemitic. Do you think that the comment came just out of the blue? I do feel that in Hollywood when, especially with black entertainers, I've had a lot of bad experiences."
