Footage shows referee KNOCKING OUT angry man during mass brawl at school basketball game
A referee was caught on video knocking out a man during an AAU basketball game in Edmond, Oklahoma, following a fight that broke out when the coach was hit with a foul for stepping onto the court. Videos from inside the Score OKC sports center in Edmond show the coach walking onto the field after the referee's call and headbutting the official, who then swings at the man.
The coach attempts to attack the referee, which is when another referee and spectators try to intervene and stop the fight last week. A mass brawl ensues and two people manage to corner the referee away from the crowd. This is when a partner of the referee sucker punches a man -- a father -- who is immediately knocked out.

One attendee told Outkick that the coach is the one who started the brawl. "I was there on the other court," the attendee said. "This was all over a tech the coach received then he came on the floor and headbutted the ref instead of leaving the floor. The attendee said of the coach's team, "The score was 28-26. They were winning, now the whole organization loses."

We’ve acquired more video from the fight at The Score on Saturday night. It looks like a coach was the instigator, and a ref took a swing. The guy who was leveled by another ref was possibly trying to keep the peace. https://t.co/yZSwYjX17K pic.twitter.com/LifXQooY8C

In a similar incident on the same day, a fight broke out in Kansas City at another AAU basketball game. As in the case in Oklahoma, a fight broke out between a coach and a referee during The Hardwood Classic X RecruitLook Summer Finale at the Staley High School. In this case, spectators backed up the coach. They beat the referee, Caleb McConnell, who had placed a foul on the coach.
'Zero security or supervision'
The Oklahoma videos received various reactions from social media users. "I would like to see the entire video, but what kind of a man hits someone when their not looking?" one user wrote. "Probably the kind of dude that's worried he's about to get jumped because there are a bunch of people on the court yelling during play," wrote another. "Holy moly. Idk the story here but seems like a real bad example to set and likely fault on both sides. These kids need more man," one user said, while another wrote, "If you don't want to get straightened out by a ref, don't enter the court during play to yell at a ref. This seems more like a 1 sided problem."

"Bad coaching, bad parenting, bad officiating, facilities being supervised by highly unqualified people; it’s a mess," one user said, while another wrote, "Man there’s usually zero security or supervision, Refs have to stick together, not all are gonna let fans punk them". "These youth basketball games are outta hand! They’re gonna need to be played in empty gyms if this continues," one user wrote.
