MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN: Former US President of the Barack Obama fired up his audience while grilling Senator Ron Johnson during a rally held by the Democrats for the Democratic challenger Gov Mandela Barnes on Saturday, October 29. Obama’s barrage of stormy questions one after another towards Johnson was received with vigor by the crowd.

Obama criticized Johnson for being unapproachable and unrelatable to the crowd, pointing out his support of a tax plan that allowed people to write off costs of private jets on their tax returns. He also attacked Johnson about his plan to raise the retirement age to 70 while working to diminish social security and Medicare.

In a video on Twitter, Obama said, “The point is some of you here are on social security, some of your parents are on social security, some of your grandparents are on social security, you know why they have social security? Because they worked for it,”

“They worked hard jobs for it, they have chapped hands for it, they have long hours and sore backs and bad knees to get that social security. And if Ron Johnson does not understand that... he should not be your senator from Wisconsin," Obama said.

Netizens were, of course, quick to take to Twitter to voice their agreement and support for the former president’s statements. One user said, “And that is how you do it and why we need to vote blue.” Another user tweeted, “Wake up, any voter who doesn’t know about the GOP’s plans to cut Social Security and Medicare. If your parents no longer get Social Security, who will support them? If your grandparents no longer get Social security…? Without Medicare? Can you pay for their medical bills?”

Another user tweeted, “Did I leap off the couch and yell? Most definitely yes. Damn, am I fired up right now.” One user was particularly quick to point out how Obama was special as a leader with this tweet, “He is a absolute once in a generation type leader. He makes me want to go knock doors and sign up voters. He’s simply the heart and soul of the Dem party. I just wish this passion wasn’t so hard to find in the Dem party. We are too dry.”

Another user seems to have concurred, with him saying, “I've heard many people speak in my lifetime. I've not seen anyone emulate the passion of a real message, or reach people on their insides.. that level like Obama. The party should take note.” One user also said, “Before 2016 I would definitely identify as conservative. Obama may be going grey and wear tan suits but he is one of the great orators with the likes of Churchill, JFK and FDR. I love hearing him speak because there is always an honesty to it that conservatives lack nowadays.”
