PALM COAST, FLORIDA: Brave Samaritans risked their own lives in an attempt to restrain a gunman at a Florida bar. In an incident that took place on Sunday night, November 21, at Smiles Nite Club in Palm Coast, a Florida man got angry over his misplaced car keys and opened fire inside a bar. However, he was restrained by a number of quick-thinking patrons, as dramatic surveillance footage shows Connor Anderson, with a gun.

According to authorities, Connor Anderson first held the gun to a woman’s head before shooting inside the club. No casualties or serious injuries were reported from the episode, said Sheriff Rick Staly. “It is amazing this dirtbag did not kill or seriously injure anyone during his moment of rage over something as small as his car keys. Violence is never the answer and alcohol and guns never mix well,” Staly stated.

The witnesses informed deputies that a suspect, a 30-year-old man was with a woman when he lost his temper while struggling to find his car key. Anderson left the watering hole on Palm Harbor Village Way for short time and came back holding the gun in his hand. As seen in the surveillance video, the accused placed the gun on his date’s head, as other patrons intervened and tried to disarm him. He kept firing his handgun at them, while debris flew all over, however, the people were able to tackle him to the ground and discharged his weapon before he fired around six times, reports the New York Post.

The suspect tried to flee and ran to a nearby parking lot, where deputies responding to 911 calls reporting a shooting got hold of him. He was wearing an NRA T-shirt during the time of the crime. Anderson was still armed with a 9mm Glock handgun and a pocket knife when was arrested, informed the sheriff’s office.

Anderson is facing criminal charges on six counts of "shooting into or throwing deadly missiles, three counts of aggravated assault, battery, using a firearm while under the influence of alcoholic beverages, and improper exhibition of dangerous weapons or firearms." He remains behind the bars as of Tuesday, November 22, and is booked into the county jail on a $542,000 bond.
