With three episodes in, what really is the verdict of 'Avenue 5'? Unclear. Some fans are enjoying the show and its humor with actor Hugh Laurie taking center stage while some are put off and are not very excited about HBO's latest comedy.

After episode three aired, fans took to Twitter to express what they felt about the show and the one scene that has seemed to tickle viewers' funny bones is the one where Laurie as Captain Ryan Clark learns that the crew of Avenue 5 is fake.

He did not realize until then that the crew members of the ship looked gorgeous, all of them, and had robotic responses to questions.

When he does realize that these are actors who have been hired to play the role of crew members, he looks at Billie McEvoy and goes "Are you shi***** me?" He even asks, "Does anybody here know what the fu** they're doing?"

To be honest, this scene is funny and it looks like Laurie's character is going to burst a blood vessel anytime soon, but that is what this show is made of!

One fan took to Twitter and wrote, "Captain Clark is my spirit animal #Avenue5 #RyanClark #HughLaurie," along with a gif of the scene above. The same fan also shared another gif of the scene and wrote, "I'M STILL LAUGHING AT THIS SO HARD #Avenue5 #RyanClark #HughLaurie."

One of the viewers also wondered why the show was getting critical reviews at all and wrote, "#Avenue5 was hysterical. I truly don’t get the mixed reviews. This show is beyond incredible and so f**king funny. @Aiannucci did it again."

Another viewer agreed and said, "I swear, the latest episode of #Avenue5 had me in complete stitches! Longest I've ever laughed at anything this year. After what were two relatively tame episodes, this one was needed and knocked it out of the park!"

Then there were negative reviews where one fan wrote, "#Avenue5 is really not at all funny. How does this get put on TV?"

Another tweeted, "I now declare that I find most "Comedy" really F dumb. Watched #TheRighteousGemstones - barely a pass. Now, #Avenue5... couldn't even finish the 2nd episode. Who writes this absurd junk? #HBO."

Fans also loved the fact that Captain Ryan Clark is in a polyamorous marriage. One fan noted, "Excuse me, is 'Captain' Ryan in a polyamorous marriage with a husband and a wife?? Because I love that. #Avenue5HBO #Avenue5."

Fans of the show are also wondering why HBO doesn't have a Twitter account for 'Avenue 5', especially since they have a supporting website for the show, quite similar to Peteypedia, but not enough worldbuilding on this one really.

One fan tweeted, "Avenue 5 doesn’t even have its own Twitter account. It’s like @HBO doesn’t even care about the show succeeding. What a way to show support. #Avenue5 #Avenue5HBO #HBO."

'Avenue 5' will air on HBO on Sundays at 10 pm ET.
