The Russo Brothers added more fuel to the MCU faithful's burning anticipation of the 'Avengers: Doomsday' trailer. Earlier, they took to Instagram to share a cryptic post to tease the film ahead of the first trailer's arrival in cinemas with 'Avatar: Fire and Ash'. The post sees a blurry image in black and white, leading fans to speculate what the picture might be of.

The latest comes on the back of multiple reports saying there will be four 'Doomsday' trailers, while some suggest that the trailer may release a day early, before the premiere of 'Fire and Ash'. The Russos have generated a buzz similar to their newest post when they teased the film with a blackboard similar to that of Reed Richards from 'The Fantastic Four: First Steps.'

The upcoming 'Avengers' film is expected to bring together the Avengers, the Fantastic Four, and the original Fox X-Men for the first time. Several other X-Men actors from the previous movies are also confirmed to appear, including Patrick Stewart as Charles Xavier, Ian McKellen as Magneto, and Rebecca Romijn as Mystique.

One of the notable characters expected to be absent from 'Doomsday' and 'Secret Wars' is Jeremy Renner's Clint Barton/Hawkeye. Speaking on the Breakfast Club, Renner was asked whether we'll get to see him in 'Doomsday' or 'Secret Wars', and he responded with a clear "no."

The 'Mayor of Kingstown' star doubled down on his status when Brie Larson, who plays Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel, asked him as well. His answer also addresses all rumors and speculations about whether he would return as Hawkeye. "If they want to do that, they can go ahead by all means and do that," Renner said when asked about replacing him with a Hawkeye variant. "I'm pretty busy myself," he added. For now, all eyes will be on the trailer/s as the MCU looks to drop some major surprises for fans. Only time will tell if there are more shockers in store leading up to the release.

'Avengers: Doomsday' releases in theaters on December 18, 2026
