LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: In the Season 1 finale of 'The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power', the Mystics, introduced in episode 5, met their end at the hands of the Stranger, revealed to be Gandalf.

Mistakenly believing the Stranger to be Sauron, the Dark Lord, the Mystics were defeated and turned into ghosts.

However, Gandalf's words, "From shadow you came. To shadow I bid you return," suggest he sent them to the Unseen realm, explaining their ghostly appearance and disappearance from the living world.

The confrontation between the Mystics and Gandalf was visually stunning but left some viewers puzzled about the nature of their deaths.

The scene showed Nori, Poppy, and Sadoc trying to save Gandalf from the Mystics, only to be almost killed before Gandalf took control, using the lead Mystic's staff to defeat them.

Despite the initial confusion, Gandalf's actions and words clarified the fate of the Mystics, adding depth to the storyline of 'The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power'.

The fate of the Mystics has left viewers questioning if they’re truly gone. Given their connection to Sauron's power, they might return after regaining strength, bound to serve the Dark Lord's cause.

Their ghostly appearance before disappearing echoes the Nazgul from 'The Fellowship of the Ring', suggesting they might be Wraith-like, trapped between the Seen and Unseen realms.

This similarity raises questions about their potential return, especially with Halbrand revealed as Sauron. If the Mystics do come back, their purpose remains unclear, adding a layer of intrigue to the storyline of 'The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power'.

Their connection to Sauron's power and Wraith-like state leaves room for a potential resurgence, keeping viewers engaged and curious about their future role.

How will the Unseen Realm play a big role in 'The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power' Season 2?

Even if the Mystics don't return, the Unseen realm will likely play a significant role in future seasons of 'The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power'.

The Ringwraiths, existing between the Unseen and Seen worlds, will likely appear as the show builds up to the War of the Last Alliance. Sauron's use of the nine rings to control them makes their introduction inevitable.

The One Ring's ability to transport its wearer to the Unseen realm, as seen in 'The Lord of the Rings', will likely be depicted as the show explores the Ring's forging and Sauron's dominance.

Additionally, the introduction of Morgul blades could foreshadow a character's gradual transport to the Unseen realm, mirroring Frodo's fate.

The Unseen realm's significance will continue to grow, weaving a rich and ominous thread throughout 'The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power'.
