Antonina Zatulovska: Bus runs over Brooklyn girl, 15, while she was on way to school
A 15-year-old girl died in Brooklyn as she was run over on her way to school. Antonina Zatulovska was crossing one of the many busy streets in Brooklyn when she was fatally struck by a yellow school bus driver. Instead of checking up on her and seeing if she needed help, the driver fled the scene, as reported by the authorities.
The incident that took place in Sheepshead Bay on Monday, January 17, was picked up on surveillance clips. While Antonina was walking, a yellow school bus driven by Aleksandr Patlakh, 55, took a turn at the corner of Bedford Avenue and Avenue P and mowed over the teen.

As seen in the footage, the driver did not bother to stop even when one of the rear wheels of the bus drove over the girl's body. A few minutes past 8 am, the police responded. They reported a 15-year-old Coney Island resident who was a student at James Madison High School was dead on scene. A few hours later, Patlakh was arrested about half a mile away from his home at Neptune Avenue and West Sixth Street. He has been charged with failure to yield to a pedestrian and failure to use due care. He was later released on a desk-appearance ticket.
The girl's father, Boris Zatulovksa, 63, said his daughter was, "a beautiful girl, innocent, crossing a crosswalk.” He added that the girl had two almost 30-year-old half brothers from his previous marriage. Her father said, "Everybody’s crying right now. Everybody knew her spark, her smile. My wife is doing pretty bad. Everybody’s suffering right now. You couldn’t believe it.”
Zatulovksa, as reported by the New York Post, is a Uber driver and says that he knows the area quite well and that there are certain rules that must always be followed. He said, "People can’t drive like this in the city, a school area, making this turn. He killed my daughter in one second... Everybody knows you have to slow [down] by a school. You can’t make people have to jump out of the way.” The family is planning a Jewish funeral for their late daughter. A GoFundMe has been opened for Antonina's funeral. The fundraiser has already raised $2635 of its goal of $25K.
