Who is AnnaLynne McCord? 'Nip/Tuck' star protests against Balenciaga after controversial child ad scandal
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: AnnaLynne McCord, an outspoken star from 'Nip/Tuck', recently organized a protest against European fashion brand Balenciaga after the luxury firm controversially used teddy bears in bondage gear in an advertisement. McCord, 35, was flanked by about a dozen other protesters outside one of Balenciaga's main stores in Beverly Hills on Saturday, December 3, and at the same time, parallel protests happened in London and New York City.
McCord was holding a sign that read, "Just why??????" with the Balenciaga emblem in the background. Other protesters carried banners that read, "Protect our children," and "Pedophilia is not fashion."McCord posted on her Instagram page on Thursday that she would be organizing the protest. She wrote, "If you are against sexual exploitation of children and would like to join, we'd love to have you!"

Following criticism on social media for allegedly using improper images of children in an ad campaign, Balenciaga's creative director and the chief executive officer both issued public statements of regret on Friday, December 2.
In a People interview from September 2019, McCord opened up about the sexual assault she experienced as a youngster. At 11 am local time, the protest began with the help of the activist group Mom Army. Twenty protests were held on December 3 in 20 cities, according to a statement by Mom Army.

AnnaLynne McCord is an actress, humanitarian and spokesperson who originally rose to fame in 2007 as the scheming Eden Lord on the FX television series 'Nip/Tuck'. Since then, she has become known for playing the vixen, vamp, and characters of a darker bent. She received a lot of praise for her performance as a troubled and delusional kid in the 2012 movie 'Excision' which earned her "Best Actress" at the 2012 Malaga International Week of Fantastic Film.
McCord has donated to numerous charities in her spare time and claims that doing so has taught her how to save herself. She states that working with charitable organizations and giving back has been her saving grace. She is the president of Together1Heart, an organization that helps girls and boys who have experienced sexual assault and human trafficking.
McCord received a US Congressional Honor in 2009 from Connecticut Congresswoman Rosa De Lauro for her efforts to combat trafficking. In an interview with House of Influence’s interview series 'In The Zoom Room', the '90210' star also discussed her experiences with sexual assault and abuse as a child. As cited by Independent, McCord said in the interview, "I came from horrible abuse. I grew up going through all of these horrible things that … that caused me absolute terrible pain."
She added, "The truth is, we’re not good and we’re not bad. Even the person who sexually abused me as a child, and the person who sexually assaulted me when I was 19, they’re not bad people." She continued, "They make bad decisions from bad places that they were in at the time,” she added. “From my point of view, [they] deserve an opportunity for redemption."
