The sixth and final season of the TNT drama will be premiering exclusively on Sunday, June 19, at 9 pm EST. The title of the season premiere episode is ‘1992’. What is ‘Animal Kingdom’ Season 6 all about?
The official synopsis reads, “In the final season of ‘Animal Kingdom’, the Cody boys discover that they can’t outrun their past. With their empire expanding, a cold case investigation sets off a series of events that puts the entire family in jeopardy. Revenge, betrayal, and a reckoning with long-forgotten violence lead to an explosive conclusion six seasons in the making.”
Thankfully, in the final episode of Season 5, every member of the Cody Family - Pope, Craig (Ben Robson), Deran (Jake Weary), and Joshua (Finn Cole) – survived after the heist. They managed to get the money and got it stacked in the storage unit. It was Pope who killed Catherine after she failed to convince him that she never planned to turn him and his family to the cops.
But the discovery of her body makes everything problematic for the Cody Family, especially Pope.
Who stars in ‘Animal Kingdom’ Season 6?
All the original cast members are returning for the sixth and final season. Shawn Hatosy will be reprising the role of Pope while Ben Robson, Jake Weary, and Joshua will return to portray Craig Cody, Deran Cody, and Joshua “J” Cody respectively.

Hatosy, who is considered to be a character actor by many, began his professional journey in the mid-90s. Interestingly, he appeared in a lot of teen comedies and dramas when he started his career. The actor played supporting roles in movies such as ‘Home for the Holidays’, ‘All Over Me’, and ‘In & Out’.
Meanwhile, on the side of Television, he has been a part of several high-profile titles like ‘Law & Order’, ‘The Twilight Zone’, ‘CSI’, ‘Dexter’, ‘Criminal Minds’, and ‘Fear the Walking Dead’. Since 2016, he has been a part of ‘Animal Kingdom’ and received a lot of praise for his acting.

TNT just dropped the first trailer for the final season and it promises to be another thrilling ride for viewers. In the action-packed clip, we learn that not only is Denis Leary back as Deran’s father Billy but against all odds, so is Scott Speedman as the late Baz. The trailer also gives us a hint that Craig and Renn’s son Nick will be abducted by someone. On the other hand, Detective Thompson is ready to go to extreme lengths in proving that Pope killed Catherine.
