The first two episodes of ‘Animal Kingdom’ Season 6 were really amazing and they actually laid a strong foundation for things to come. In the first two episodes of the sixth and final season, we saw how things are working out for the Cody Boys. Most importantly, things are looking a bit bleak for Pope (Shawn Hatosy). So, we know that he killed Catherine at the end of Season 5 and her body was found at the end.

However, in the first two episodes, we couldn’t see much anything regarding that. But it seems things are moving forward because a new detective has finally been assigned the case. Louise Thompson (Moran Atias) is a San Diego County detective whose approach to investigations is the same as the kind of cases she tackles — cold. So, she reaches her desk and the captain of the police station asks her which case she wants to tackle. The third case she is offered is about Catherine’s death and she chooses to take it up because that’s what she is known for.

However, when she reads the files of the case, she realizes how things don’t add up and how the case needs to get reopened. While talking to one of the officers, he tells her that it was her baby daddy, Baz, who killed her. But Thompson believes that it’s not what it looks like and there’s so much to the case. The police officer also gets to know about the Cody Boys and asks for their files. She starts seeing those files and decides to visit Catherine’s daughter.

While questioning her, she asks her who was there with them that day. The little girl tells her that Pope (Shawn Hatosy) was there too and Thompson believes Pope has something to do with it. Things are getting pretty intense for Pope and we might see the detective become really aggressive in solving the case.

After so long, we actually saw Pope being so happy while doing what he loves the most: skating. However, the reopening of this case will actually mean that he would have to deal with a lot of dangerous things and situations. Elsewhere, things are getting heated up between Craig and Deran. Craig comes to Deran and asks him to move out of his house so that he can live here. Deran has absolutely no idea why is he saying that and refuses to let him stay. Craig gets really angry and leaves and makes Deran even more frustrated.

Deran has been going through a lot and it’s still new for him to be sober. So, it might take some time to get to his normal self. He has got a new friend, and as of now, we are still to see if he’s a good or bad influence.

‘Animal Kingdom’ Season 6 returns to TNT with a new episode every Sunday at 9 pm EST.
