The Andy Murray vs Yoshihito Nishioka clash was dubbed as a stern start for the Briton by many ahead of the start of the US Open on Monday. Murray had a decent outing at the Western & Southern Open before losing to Milos Raonic. Meanwhile, Nishioka hasn’t played a single match -- in a tournament or an exhibition game --  since the ATP Dubai Open in February this year and it's all about shrugging off the rust. Here's everything you need to know ahead of the tournament.

Time

The match is slated to start at 12 pm ET on August 31, 2020.

Venue

Both players will face-off at the Arthur Ashe Stadium, New York.

Where to watch?

The match can be watched live on ESPN. ESPN 2 and The Tennis Channel.

How to live stream?

The matches can be live-streamed on the ESPN App or WatchESPN.com. Alternative sources to watch the matches include Sling TV, AT&T TV Now, Hulu, YouTube TV, and Fubo.

Pre-match buzz

Ahead of the clash, Murray was confident about his fitness levels. "I'm not as quick probably as I was before, but I'm able to go out there and compete and focus on the tennis," he was quoted as saying by ATP Tour. "Hopefully [I will] be able to last a five-set match without my performance seriously deteriorating as it goes on," Murray said. "It's been tough to get to this point, a lot of hard work, lots of ups and downs. But I made it back."

"In the matches, I played... I felt pretty good on the court in terms of my body. The matches were still difficult and stressful, but it was still enjoyable to be out there competing because my body was actually feeling okay. Hopefully, that will be the case again next week." Nishioka, on the other hand, will be keen to get on a winning start. The world number 48 will be wary of Murray's experience.

Who will win?

It is a tough call to make since one's battling fitness issued while the other hasn't had any game time for the last few months. However, Nishioka is dubbed to take this home keeping Murray's fitness levels in mind.
