LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Fans of 'The Walking Dead' are eagerly awaiting the spinoff series about the Internet's favorite couple, Rick and Michonne (Danai Gurira). In the series, Rick (Andrew Lincoln) will make his comeback after appearing at the end of season 11 after his character vanished in Season 9. The upcoming spinoff series has not yet been given a title and will be called the Rick and Michonne spinoff series. Some new information about the spinoff series has surfaced on the internet when a Twitter user shared a behind-the-scenes video of Andrew Lincoln filming the Rick & Michonne spinoff in Hamilton Park, New Jersey.

The video shows Andrew Lincoln's Rick in a brand new area that he simply roams. The series is one of the many spinoffs created from the long-running AMC series 'The Walking Dead' and will feature the return of Rick and Michonne, who left the series in seasons 9 and 10, respectively.

Filming of 'The Walking Dead'

A Twitter user named @ViralMaterialz shared a behind-the-scenes video of the alleged filming of the spinoff, which takes place in Hamilton Park, New Jersey. The user simply shared the video without further speculation or captions. The video shows a scene where Rick is walking, surrounded by modern buildings with many cafes lined up. While it's still unclear if this will be a scene in the upcoming spinoff, it does confirm that Rick will be in a completely different environment, presumably far away from the walkers and the gore. At least for some time.

The ever-expanding universe of 'The Walking Dead'

Originally, 'The Walking Dead' series is set in Georgia, but Rick and Michonne's spinoff story is set in New Jersey, which takes Rick far away from the original setting and gives the entire series a breather. In another spinoff 'Fear The Walking Dead,' the action of Season 1 was set in Los Angeles, California, and as the series progressed, viewers were transported to Mexico, where the story of the spinoff series continued. It is great how the production sets the action of the spinoff series in different locations, opening up the perspective that the zombie apocalypse took place all over the world and not just in one particular state in the US. This gives viewers the opportunity to imagine a post-apocalypse world in a more global way, and also opens the door for the production to take the plot international.
