Andrew Cuomo's sinking ship is NOT abandoning its Captain!
Outgoing New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, who was compelled to resign from his position following multiple sexual harassment allegations, was seen moving out of his Albany mansion on Monday, August 22. Soon after his departure, reports surfaced that the embattled former Guv has left behind his pet dog Captain. In fact, there were claims that Cuomo even inquired if any of his staff was interested to take the rescue pup.
Amid severe backlash on social media, Cuomo took to Twitter to clarify that he has not abandoned Captain despite claims. "Some people just can't get the facts straight. Yes, I was downstate monitoring storm response for a few days, but Captain and I are a man and his dog. He is part of our family and that’s the way it will always be," he tweeted, blasting his critics. The ex-governor will reportedly be shifting to his sister Maria Cole's house in Westchester for the time being, until he finds a more permanent residential arrangement. Meanwhile, Kathy Hochul has been sworn in as the Governor of New York in place of Andrew Cuomo.

Andrew Cuomo's political aspirations came to an abrupt end after state Attorney General Letitia James' report found that he sexually harassed 11 women. As per the norm, the incoming governor will now be occupying the gubernatorial mansion in Albany.
Cuomo, who has been affiliated with the Democratic Party, reportedly adopted his dog Captain in 2018, when he was a puppy. Captain is a mix of German shepherd, Siberian, and Malamute, and was notorious for nipping Cuomo's staff and state police officers in past. On August 21, an insider source told Times Union, "He tried giving the dog to the (a mansion employee). ... Apparently (the employee) took the dog home and it didn't work — the dog walks him, he don't walk the dog." However, the ex-Guv clarified in a statement to Daily Mail that he was falsely accused of giving away Captain.
"Captain is part of the governor's family and for nameless ill-informed sources to imply they've been trying to give him away is untrue. Someone offered to watch him for a few days while the transition was ongoing but for that to be weaponized and morph from a game of telephone into the press is simply absurd. This is palace intrigue gone amok," he wrote in the formal statement.
Cuomo further gave an emotional final address as the New York Governor, where he slammed the sexual harassment report by Letitia James, dubbing all allegations as false. "Allegations must still be scrutinized and verified whether made by a woman or man that is our basic justice system. I understand there are moments of intense political pressure and media frenzy that causes a rush to judgement that is not right, fair or sustainable," he said.
