COHASSET, MASSACHUSETTS: Brain Walshe, 47 is accused of murdering and dismembering his wife Ana Walshe at their Cohasset home in Massachusets on New Year's Day. She was reported missing three days later. Brian has pleaded not guilty to the charges even as investigators are still to find her body.

Since her mother hired a private investigator to look into her affair, the defense attorney revealed that Ana was allegedly having an affair and had likely vanished. This comes even after the defense acknowledged Brian's 'problematic' Google searches.

The small bone fragment is still undergoing DNA testing

According to reports, prosecutors in the court filing said that a hacksaw with blood stains that was discovered in the bin at his mother’s home in Swampscott, Connor was disassembled, and a small bone fragment was discovered among the evidence gathered by the detectives, Fox News reported. The evidence is now likely said to be a key piece in solving the mystery as it according to KIRO7 "is still undergoing DNA testing." The investigators couldn't locate more evidence which they said had been dumped in several dumpsters as the contents had been incinerated.

Rugs that appeared to be from the Walshe's living room and kitchen that 'contained red-brown staining'

Besides this, a Volkswagen key, Ana's Covid-19 vaccination card, a Hermes watch and Gucci necklace that Ana was known to wear, Hunter boots, a black Prada purse, and a short black coat was also found as per April 27 court filings. Her Tyvek suit with blood was matched to Ana as per the report. They also found rugs that appeared to be from the Walshe's living room and kitchen that "contained red-brown staining" and "numerous items identical" to Brian's alleged purchases at Lowe's and Home Depot, according to the latest court documents obtained by Fox News. Also, the search warrants that were unsealed this week in Quincy District Court contained three blurry security pictures that showed Brian Walshe purchasing significant quantities of cleaning goods and carrying a garbage bag.

Private Investigator who was hired to discover Ana's alleged  affair

On Thursday's hearing, the prosecutors accused Brian and her mother of hiring a Private Investigator as he suspected of her having an affair. The prosecutor also noted that Brian Walshe was the sole beneficiary to a pair of life insurance policies worth $2.7 million in the case of his wife’s death.

The accusations were denied by Brian throw his attorney Tracy Miller who told the court that it was her mother who hired the PI and Brian had nothing to do with it. “He said she was crazy, ‘Ana’s a good girl but go ahead, you’ll be proved wrong,’” she said. “The investigator never found any evidence of an affair — because they didn’t have time to start doing anything before Ana went missing.” She added that Brian Walshe “had no idea that his wife was having an affair until he learned it in discovery in this case.”

Brian suspected Ana was cheating on him in December

In December 2022, Brian suspected Ana was cheating on him, and "he would repeatedly access the Instagram page of one of Ana's male friends from Washington DC," the court filing says per the report. The day after Christmas Brian's mother hired a Washington, D.C based private investigator "to conduct surveillance of Ana for the purpose of proving infidelity," and on December 27 as per the report he researched for divorce.

'It is easy for a single person to disappear if they want to disappear'

A day later on December 27, Ana "became uncharacteristically emotional and extremely upset" while she was out with her friends in Washington, DC, because she thought Brian was going to prison. She had even told her friends that she will be relocating to Washington along with her children.  “It is easy for a single person to disappear if they want to disappear,” Miller asserted on Thursday suggesting Ana had disappeared. “There’s been no indication of, if she died, how she died. There’s no murder weapon. There’s no motive.”
