Tony Nix: Alabama driver speeds through Christmas parade weeks after Waukesha horror in CHILLING video
HAYDEN, ALABAMA: Weeks after the tragic Waukesha incident, a suspect, Tony Nix, was apprehended after being seen on film driving the wrong way along a Christmas parade route. The event occurred on the night of Tuesday, December 7, north of Birmingham, when the crowd erupted in screaming. On Wednesday morning, Hayden Police Chief James Chapman said on Facebook, "I am happy that no one was wounded by this guy. This person has been apprehended and criminal and traffic charges have been filed by the Hayden Police Department. Thank you to everyone that helped!"
A crowd screams in a video acquired by WVTM. With its lights blazing, a minivan is seen speeding toward a police vehicle. The cruiser seemed to have been in charge of the procession. "Oh, my God," she said. "Jesus Christ. Another one?" a witness can be overheard stating. Another witness comments, "They should stop the band." "Police and fire units will be riding Highway 160 with emergency lights on to slow traffic down so you can arrive in a safe position to see the procession," the municipality of Hayden wrote on its Facebook page before the incident.

"To assure the safety of all parade attendees and participants, the West Blount Fire District has erected up 15 light towers along the parade route," it stated.
In a similar incident, a red Ford Escape SUV broke through barricades and drove through the annual Christmas parade in Waukesha on November 21, around 4.39 pm. In an attempt to stop the driver, one police officer knocked on the bonnet of the SUV. In an attempt to halt the car, another cop discharged his weapon.
The Wisconsin march was being broadcast live, and other spectators recorded the event on camera, which was later shared on social media. The car did not stop at first, according to two eyewitnesses, and all they could hear were people screaming and sobbing. The driver was regarded as "cool and collected" by one witness. The driver intentionally targeted the crowd, police said, driving in a "zig-zag pattern" to hit as many people as possible.
By hitting participants and bystanders at the annual Christmas parade in Waukesha, Wisconsin, the driver of the SUV killed six people and wounded sixty-two others. Darrell E Brooks, 39, the suspected driver of the car, was arrested and charged with six charges of first-degree intentional murder.
