TALLAHASSEE, FLORIDA: Former President Donald Trump has begun a new fight with the newly elected Governor Ron DeSantis. The new press release released by Trump had an array of criticisms, that called the former mayor of Tallahassee, Andrew Gillum, a "Crack Head." This refers to the earlier incidents of Gillum entering rehab for alcoholism which reduced the glory of his political career.

Back then, the former mayor said, "At this stage, I don't have anything else to have to conceal. ... What was most hurtful was this belief that I was somehow living a lie in my marriage and my family," reported People. The former president brought back an old term, 'Ron DeSanctimonious,' which details taking credit for all of DeSantis' success.

According to Ballot Pedia, Andrew was born in Miami and was in active politics with the ticket of the Democratic party. He was first elected to the Tallahassee City Council in 2003 while he was a student at Florida A&M University at 23. The former mayor remained on the city council until in 2014. Andrew was elected as the mayor of the city in 2014. While he was at the city council, he brought numerous initiatives, including the Digital Harmony initiative. While he was the mayor, he also launched the Tallahassee Mayoral Fellows Program in partnership with Florida Agricultural And Mechanical University and Florida State University.

The fellowship brought a lot of exciting experiences to the students and exposed them to working with government bodies. In March 2020, Andrew was one of three men experiencing a drug overdose and was found with "plastic baggies of suspected crystal meth" in a hotel room in Miami Beach. However, he was not arrested. Meanwhile, US Attorney's Office in the Northern District of Florida has 21 felony counts, including wire fraud, conspiracy, and making false statements for allegedly diverting money raised during the campaign to a company controlled by one of his top advisors on his campaign, Sharon Lettman-Hicks.

Donald Trump's press release

The press release of the former president talking about the 2017 elections took potshots at DeSantis and Gillum: "...When I Endorsed him, it was as though, to use a bad term, a nuclear weapon went off. Years later, they were the exact words that Adam Putnam used in describing Ron’s Endorsement. He said, “I went from having it made, with no competition, to immediately getting absolutely clobbered after your Endorsement.” I then got Ron by the “Star” of the Democrat Party, Andrew Gillum (who was later revealed to be a “Crack Head”), by having two massive Rallies with tens of thousands of people at each one."
