UPDATED JUL 16, 2019

Gypsy Rose Blanchard, the girl who murdered her mother, with the help of her then-boyfriend, Nicholas Godejohn, has found love again in prison. Earlier this year Gypsy shared with her family that she is engaged to Ken who she has been exchanging letters with from the prison. Ken, wrote to Gypsy after watching the documentary ‘Mommy Dead and Dearest’. The couple has been together for nearly two years.

After months of engagement, Ken finally met Gypsy’s family (her father and stepmother) in May, the picture was taken then. E! managed to obtain these photos.

Gypsy’s family is very happy for the couple. In an interview, Kristy Blanchard (Gypsy’s step-mother) said, “We really do like him and we hope to get to know him better. He loves Gypsy very much, and you can clearly see that when he talks about her and looks at her.”

The duo has decided to put their wedding on hold until Gypsy’s release. Gypsy is currently serving 10 years sentence after pleading guilty to the second-degree murder of her mother Dee Dee Blanchard in June 2015. Gypsy took the help of her then-boyfriend, Godejohn a 24-year-old man she'd met on a Christian dating website in 2012. He helped her murder her mother to escape the abuse. Godejohn had stabbed Dee Dee with a knife multiple times in the back and slashed her across her neck. Godejohn is currently in custody awaiting trial for first-degree murder.

Experts believe that Dee Dee was suffering from The Munchausen syndrome by proxy, a rare form of abuse in which a guardian exaggerates or induces illness in a child for attention and sympathy and Gypsy found her escape through a Christian dating site and a murder plot. Apart from the documentary ‘Mommy Dead and Dearest’, Gypsy's life also served as the story for Hulu's series which was titled 'The Act'.
