'Quit sending naked pictures': Southwest Airlines pilot threatens to CANCEL flight after passenger AirDrops nudes
HOUSTON, TEXAS: A pilot threatened to cancel a flight from Houston to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico after a passenger sent nude photographs via AirDrop to other flyers. This act was not entertained by the captain at all. A viral TikTok video showed the captain making an announcement on the plane intercom and calling out the act while threatening the passengers that he may cancel the flight, which would involve security, and ruin their vacation.
A viral TikTok video of the captain's announcement was shared by user and passenger Teighlor Marsalis. The TikTok video was posted on the social media site on August 25 and already has 2.4 million views with more than 100K likes. The pilot can be heard saying, "So here's the deal. While we're on the ground, I'm going to have to pull back to the gate, everybody's going to have to get off. We're going to have to get security involved and this vacation is going to be ruined. So, you folks, whatever that AirDrop thing is quit sending naked pictures, and let's get yourself to Cabo." Cyber-flashing is a form of cybercrime that was banned in Texas in 2021 and carries a fine of $500. You can watch the video here.

Some TikTokers found the video funny with one commenting, "This feels like my mom turning around in the car to me and my twin sister." Another user wrote, "Haha major dad vibes." Other people took this matter seriously and praised the pilot for taking control of the situation as one user wrote, "The Captain is in charge. He gave a fair warning. People need to stop doing this stuff on airplanes." Another user commented, "Pilot had 'Don’t make me turn this plane around!' energy Love it!"
Sadly, this is not the first time that Southwest Airlines had the unlucky privilege of dealing with something like this. In June 2022, another passenger who was referred to as "Larry" sent a sexually explicit photo to other passengers on the flight. He was later escorted off the flight upon landing. Southwest Airlines came forward to comment on this issue while talking to the New York Post and said, "The safety, security and wellbeing of Customers and Employees is the Southwest Team’s highest priority at all times. When made aware of a potential problem, our employees address issues to support the comfort of those traveling with us."
