WEST VILLAGE, NEW YORK: Something Navy CEO Matthew Scanlan flatly refuted claims that founder Arielle Charnas's husband Brandon Charnas stole money from the apparel business. “This is categorically false,” Scanlan said in a statement on Wednesday, December 7, 2022. “Brandon Charnas does not have access to company bank accounts. He is not an employee of the company, and he has no access points,” he added.

According to reports, rumors about Arielle, 35, and Brandon's marriage are also circulating online. Despite speculations that the couple is divorcing, a Something Navy spokesman told E! News that the rumors are "patently false" and added that "they are happily married and in love." A source added, "There was absolutely no embezzlement. This is all part of a disgusting, coordinated smear campaign attempting to damage Arielle and Brandon's reputations and lives."

On Reddit and other social media platforms on Tuesday, December 6 night, rumors about the couple's divorce surfaced. It was also rumored that Brandon, the co-founder of Current Real Estate, had allegedly stolen money from Something Navy.

Something Navy was first launched by Arielle as a blog in 2009. She and Brandon have three children together: Ruby, 6, Esme, 4, and Navy, 18 months. The brand has evolved into a clothing line more than ten years later, and as of November 2021, Business Insider estimates that it is worth $100 million. The Treasure & Bond collaboration, Arielle's first collection with Nordstrom, debuted in 2017 and sold more than $1 million in a single day.

The following year, Arielle collaborated with the well-known retailer once more to debut her Something Navy line, which the outlet reported generated more than $4.4 million in sales in a single day.

The couple, who got married in 2014, thought in March 2020 on reassessing their connections amid their ever-expanding personal individual careers. "The issue is she gives too much," Brandon told Barbara Corcoran in a March 2020 joint interview with Arielle. "She just thinks everything should be unconditional and at the end of the day, you only have your family and everyone else that are friends—there's always a transaction occurring."

Although Brandon said he "understood" the nature of such connections, he continued by saying that one aspect will always be more important. "Just do what you make you happy," he said, adding, "As long you have your family and your kids, that's all that matters."
