Louis Orr, an ex-New York Knicks star player has died at age 64, as confirmed by his family. He had been battling cancer for years now, to which he succumbed on Thursday, December 15. Orr has also coached at Seton Hall during his successful basketball career. "On 12/15/2022, Louis Orr was called home to be with the Lord as his battle with cancer has come to an end," read the statement released by the family. "He was a dearly loved and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be forever missed!"

Before the press release from Orr’s family, the news was made public by CBS Sports, Jon Rothstein on the social media platform. Other than these two roles, Orr also featured at Syracuse and was appointed head coach for Siena, Bowling Green, and his most recent tie at Georgetown under Patrick Ewing. Rothstein tweeted, “The college basketball world mourns the loss of Louis Orr. A wonderful man who was taken from us all too soon. Orr played at Syracuse and later was the HC of Siena, Seton Hall, and Bowling Green. He last served on Patrick Ewing's staff at Georgetown. May God bless his family.”

Ewing said, "I've lost a great friend. Someone who has been in my life since I was 22 years old. We developed a friendship and a brotherhood.
