Deepfakes have finally made their way into 'America's Got Talent' and they seem to be fun. In an act that's far from ordinary, MetaPhysic Synthetic Media developed an artificial intelligence imitation of Simon Cowell performing 'You're the Inspiration' by Chicago and the results were hilarious.

On June 6, 'America's Got Talent' publicized an early audition for MetaPhysic Synthetic Media, an artificial intelligence company. Chris Ume and Tom Graham, the proprietors of Metaphysic, take the stage in the clip and explain how their firm employs artificial intelligence to build buzz about real content. They got 'AGT' veteran Daniel Emmet on stage to demonstrate their talents. Daniel walked the stage wearing a white button-down shirt and pants, which he wore for the concert.

It was obvious that none of the judges could foresee what would happen next. Before wishing them well, Cowell described their act as "mysterious." Soon after the group arrived, Daniel appeared on stage as Simon Cowell in lieu of the 'AGT' logo. He then sang Chicago's 'You're the Inspiration.' While Cowell could hardly look at the screen, the audience went absolutely crazy for this ensemble. The judges awarded the artificial intelligence ensemble a standing ovation at the end of the song.

“Is it inappropriate to fall in love with a contestant?" Cowell wonders. "I know it’s strange, but I love you, Daniel. I’ve always said is there such a thing as a perfect contestant, a great singer who looks incredible, we just found them,” Cowell added. The judges commended the group for introducing something completely unique to the series. They stated that MetaPhysic Synthetic Media's skill is derived not just from Daniel's singing, but also from artificial intelligence. Klum joked that she'll be getting more wrinkles since she was laughing so hard, while Vergara said, “I cannot even imagine the amount of work to be able to create something so perfect,” adding that if she wasn't paying attention, she'd think it was Cowell up there. Mandel described the team as "pure talent."

Who are MetaPhysic Synthetic Media?

The judges were stunned by Metaphysic and its capacity to generate avatars on the 'AGT' stage. When Daniel sang, viewers were taken aback by Simon Cowell's arrival on TV. All the judges praised their remarkable skills, which earned the candidates "four yesses" to advance to the next round.

Metaphysic began inventing the inconceivable with its artificial intelligence before even setting foot on the 'AGT' stage. Thomas Graham and Chris Ume, the firm's co-founders, founded the company over a year ago and could only meet two days prior to their audition on the 'AGT' stage due to the pandemic. The firm promotes itself as a producer of realistic deep fakes of celebrities/actors. MetaPhysic promotes its technology as low-cost and versatile, with limitless modification options.

Their innovative technology is currently employed in commercials. Artificial intelligence is employed in advertisements to generate the look of a superstar while utilizing a normal individual. In their most recent commercial, the gang resurrected the 1971 persona El Chavo for a Dish Network commercial. Metaphysic creates software that uses artificial intelligence to assist producers in creating meaningful and engaging content. The mission of the company is: "to empower individuals by putting them at the center of the immersive content economies that will define how we use the internet in the future."

Metaphysic empowers individuals to own and regulate their biometric data by developing AI tools and methods for content development. According to the firm, these are: "building towards an ethical web3 economy where every internet user can access the limitless potential of the hyperreal metaverse." Simon Deckers (Compositioning AI Supervisor), Tomas Koutsky (Senior Full Stack Engineer), Jo Plaete (Product Innovation Director), Beni Issembert (CCO), Alexandre Carvalho (CTO), Kevin Ume (co-founder), and many more are also on the team. They work on "deep learning and AI content generation to create impossible videos featuring photorealistic synthetic humans" at Metaphysic studios. The company's technology and AI models aid in the creation of realistic and natural depictions of faces, even making them appear to be celebrities.

Metaphysic collaborated with P&G and Nice Shoes to re-create "the excitement of Deion Sanders’ iconic 1989 draft day drip." The business built a synthetic replica of Sanders that looked exactly like him on the day he was picked. The commercial ran during the 2021 NFL Draft and received a massive response from fans.

In addition, the business collaborated with the Belgian Football Association to develop hyperreal synthetic copies of two renowned late Belgian team managers to give pep talks to their respective teams during the UEFA Euro 2020 football competition in 2021. Its tools can also re-create and revitalize old footage. People can even make their own avatars by signing up and accessing the community servers in order to obtain access to additional AI tools and resources.

Along with Metaphysic, a slew of other individuals and ensembles will take the stage during the 'AGT' auditions and offer some jaw-dropping performances. This week's episode has dance, magic, singing, comedy, and much more, as well as some amusing tales about unsuccessful auditions. 'America's Got Talent' (AGT) has been renewed for a 17th season, which premiered on NBC on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at 8 p.m. ET. The first episode featured tremendously skilled individuals and groups taking the stage to exhibit their abilities and advance to the competition's final round. Heidi Klum, Sofia Vergara, Howie Mandel, and Simon Cowell, fan favorites on the judging panel, returned with their lively, humorous exchanges. Will someone win the golden buzzer?
