The 2020 American Music Awards is airing live from the Los Angeles Microsoft Theater on Sunday, November 22, on ABC from 8 pm ET.  Some of the biggest music makers of the year are being honored for their work in their respective genres. Hitmakers The Weeknd and Roddy Ricch were among the night's most nominated stars with eight nods each — including the top prize, artist of the year.

Among the Latin awards section, Bad Bunny had two 2020 albums, 'YHLQMDLG' and 'Las Que No Iban a Salir', are up for favorite Latin album. He won favorite Latin album award with 'YHLQMDLG' and now he has also bagged the award for the Favourite Male Artist (Latin). Apart from Bunny, J Balvin and Ozuna were also nominated for the category. In addition to Bunny, other Latin acts and songs that received nods at this year’s awards include J Balvin, Ozuna, Becky G, Karol G, Rosalia and Anuel AA. In the list of performers lined up for the night, it was mentioned that Bad Bunny and Jhay Cortez would collaborate for a special performance.

Born on March 10, 1994, Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, known by his stage name Bad Bunny, is a Puerto Rican singer, rapper, and songwriter. Bad Bunny has frequently collaborated with artists such as J Balvin, Ozuna, Farruko, Residente, Arcángel, and Daddy Yankee. In late 2016, he rose to stardom when he collaborated with Cardi B and Drake for the singles, 'I Like It' and 'Mia', which made its way on the US Billboard Hot 100 at number one and number three, respectively. His debut album 'X 100pre' (2018) was awarded a Latin Grammy for Best Urban Music Album. His collaborative album with J Balvin, Oasis (2019), includes popular singles 'Qué Pretendes' and 'La Canción'.

During the events, many artists performed including, Billie Eilish, Shawn Mendes, Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Jennifer Lopez, Maluma, The Weeknd, Kenny G, Dua Lipa, Dan + Shay, Megan Thee Stallion, Bad Bunny, Jhay Cortez, Lil Baby, BTS and many more, but what fans were also eagery waiting for was Bad Bunny's act.

Earlier this month, the makers of the show announced that 50-year-old 'Hidden Figures' star Taraji P Henson will be hosting the event. “The AMAs bring together the music community to celebrate what really drives all artists – the fans. I’m proud to take the stage as this year’s host — and also a fan — for what promises to be an electrifying night of music," she said in a press release.

As soon as the news made its way to social media, fans started slamming the show for not having a performance from the singer, as one Internet user said, "BAD BUNNY WIN DESERVED." Another one said, "Ok fine #BadBunny is sexy enough. Whatever. #laromana". With a crying gif, another one wrote, "AMA really lied about bad bunny performing tonight. got me watching from the start for nothing. MENTIRAS." Another one wrote, "Me waiting for bad bunny all damn night just for them to cut the performance #AMAs "
