Joe Biden supporters take to streets across US to celebrate victory with dancing, honking and fireworks
Celebrations have filled the air across all American cities. Dancing pedestrians, honking motorists, with cheers filling the air is the current scene on major streets across the country as Joe Biden was declared to have won the Presidential elections at 11:25 am on Saturday by major TV networks. AP, CNN, NBC, ABC, CBS, and USA Today all made the call and Fox News followed suit 10 minutes later as votes in Philadelphia pushed his margin in the crucial swing state of Pennsylvania over the edge, while Donald Trump played golf. Biden won this with 290 electoral votes, over the 270 needed to win the White House while Trump trailed behind at 214. Biden's Vice Presidential candidate Kamala Harris created history and became the first female VP, the first Black and Asian-American VP ever.
The majority of the cities across the country slipped into celebration mode as the news broke, putting an end to the vexing four-day wait since election day. People were overjoyed that the tie turned in the Democratic candidate's favor making him the new President. Meanwhile, Trump refused to accept the call, claiming Biden was trying to "falsely pose" as the winner, declaring that he will keep disputing the results he claims are "fraud" as his supporters rallied outside his Virginia golf course where he headed to earlier in the morning for a game.
New York City erupted with cheers of celebration, and clapping and car horns filled the air moments after Biden's victory was announced. Cheers could be heard all across Manhattan as walkers in Central Park stopped and threw their arms in the air in celebration. Many people flocked to their balconies to join in the celebrations in the streets below. Footage on social media revealed the moment many New Yorkers learned Biden would become the 46th president of the United States.
People cried and hugged each other out on the streets outside the Pennsylvania Convention Center where the last votes to be counted pushed Biden towards victory. Some Biden supporters danced in the streets as they could barely contain their emotion over the victory for the Democrat. People in Washington choked back tears of relief and hugged each other, according to the Daily Mail.

As the result came in, a group of people along Black Lives Matter plaza in Washington DC erupted in cheers. Hundreds gathered outside the White House holding up Biden campaign signs and chanting "he's gone" while fireworks could be heard in the distance. At Dupont Circle, a street party broke out with hundreds playing music, singing and dancing.
In Atlanta, where votes are still being counted but will no longer change the election result, shouts, fireworks and cheers erupted as the news spread. Thanking the nation for this historic win, Biden took to Twitter, declaring he will strive to serve everyone regardless they voted for him or not. "America, I’m honored that you have chosen me to lead our great country. The work ahead of us will be hard, but I promise you this: I will be a President for all Americans — whether you voted for me or not. I will keep the faith that you have placed in me," he shared.
