Amber Alert issued for 7-month-old Indiana girl Xeniyah Sanders abducted from home
MERRILLVILLE, INDIANA: Authorities issued an Amber alert for 7-month-old baby girl, Xeniyah Sanders on Monday, October 11. She was reportedly abducted from her home in Merrillville and is believed to be in "extreme danger". The Merrillville Police department noted that according to Xeniyah's mother, a man entered their home in the 5600-block of Massachusetts Street through a window without permission, took the child and fled.
Police say Xeniyah was last seen at around 5:35 am in Merrillville. She was wearing a white shirt with a watermelon on the front and the words 'Grandpa is one in a melon', a diaper and shoes. In a similar incident, an Amber alert was recently issued for a six-week-old Ohio boy Cannon Tatum allegedly kidnapped in Cleveland by a family friend in August. In another incident, authorities in Milwaukee issued an Amber alert for a 13-year-old boy, Terrence Trammell who went missing on Thursday, August 19. Trammell's mother alleged that the 13-year-old was kidnapped by four unknown African American males. Police issued an Amber alert early Tuesday morning, September 14, after a seven-year-old girl, Kylie Brown was reportedly taken from her home by her own father in Ohio.

An Amber Alert was issued by the Illinois State Police at 12:39 pm, around 40 minutes after Indiana police announced the initial alert. Police have reason to believe that baby Xeniyah was taken by Leandre Nutull. He is described by police as a 35-year-old Black male, 5 feet 9 inches tall, 150 pounds, black hair with brown eyes, last seen wearing a black coat and black jeans and driving a silver 2006 Acura TL with Illinois license plates of CU62616.
Anyone with information on Xeniyah's whereabouts is requested to call the Merrillville Police Department at 219-660-0028 or 911. Police haven't commented if the suspect knew the missing 7-month-old. Authorities noted that the Amber Alert was also issued in Illinois at the request of Merrillville police.
