'You still order s**t': Amazon employee's viral rant as he makes 172 deliveries a day during Hurrican Ian
WEST COAST, FLORIDA: In a video going popular on social media, an Amazon employee said that during Hurricane Ian, he had to deliver to 172 customers in a single day.
The Amazon employee, who goes by the username @abnormalpoet, documented his experience delivering products to multiple homes during the terrible storm on TikTok. The video has 300,000 views and more than 52,000 likes. "I hate all of y'all right now," the delivery driver exclaimed, "Y'all knew this hurricane was coming and you still order s**t. I gotta go to 172 of y'all today. I hate y'all. Everything is wet."

On Wednesday, September 29, Storm Ian, a Category 4 hurricane with wind gusts of 150 mph, made landfall on Florida's west coast. According to Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno, the hurricane had a catastrophic impact on the state, and the death toll is "in the hundreds." The storm subsequently weakened to a Category 1 hurricane but is expected to gain strength as it makes landfall in South Carolina.
According to Newsweek, Amazon claimed to have over 8,000 employees in the Tampa region, and added their safety is a top focus. The corporation has shut down more than 80 sites in the storm's path and will pay workers for their regular shifts during the shutdown while also helping those who were harmed by Hurricane Ian.
The video's comment area was swamped with both humorous and encouraging remarks.
"No dude - that's on Amazon - you should be getting paid to stay home," one user exclaimed. Another said, "That's why I have a cart full and not ordering until it passes. Yall deserve to be safe too!" "Wait they still got ya out there in this storm," one questioned.
