Gone are the days of Tyler Posey leading a pack of werewolves to fight another; these days he appears on the screen as a lone wolf fighting off zombies piling up outside his door when a mysterious infection turns the entire population of his city into blood-hungry monsters. With a plot copied ditto from the South Korean zombie horror '#Alive' that premiered recently on Netflix, here's all you need to know about its American remake 'Alone'.

Release date:

Arriving right in time for the spooky season in the already existing paranoia surrounding the pandemic, 'Alone' premiers on October 16, on VoD.

Plot:

Very similar to the French film 'The Night Eats the World' (2018), Netflix's 'Alone' kicks off focuses majorly on life in quarantine, with classic American undertones of action and drama. According to the official synopsis of the movie, "When an outbreak hits, Aidan barricades himself inside his apartment and starts rationing food. His complex is overrun by infected Screamers, and with the world falling apart into chaos, he is left completely alone fighting for his life."

Tyler Posey and Summer Spiro (Netflix)

Cast:

Tyler Posey stars as Aidan, the titular lone survivor of what looks like a zombie outbreak. Should 'alone' borrow the entire plot of '#Alive', Aidan will be seen sparking and alliance with a woman living in the same condo, just opposite apartments, and together they brave through the horrors. The film also stars the acclaimed Donald Sutherland who, not so long ago, was the villain in another young adult dystopia called 'The Hunger Games'. Posey's father John Posey, who had already appeared on his son's very popular teen thriller 'Teen Wolf', stars as Aidan's dad in the Netflix zombie horror. Robert Ri’chard, known for the 'iZombie' series; 'The Vampire Diaries' series; and 'The Burrowers' rounds up the cast with Westworld's Summer Spiro as Eva.

Creator:

Matt Naylor helms the original screenplay for 'Alone', just as he had for its South Korean version, '#Alive'. The film is being directed by Johnny Martin, who has titles like 'Titanic' and 'Hangman'.

Trailer:

The absolutely riveting trailer for 'Alone' has been out since August. While living up to its South Korean equivalent might not be easy, the trailer does look promising. Check it out here.
