Police are calling for help to locate 24-year-old Alexis Gabe after she disappeared on January 26, 2022. According to reports, Gabe was last seen that night, and her car was found unlocked, with the keys still inside the next day. Friends and family have also set up a Facebook page to solicit information, as the Oakley Police are busy trying to find out exactly what happened.

On January 7, we reported on the disappearance of Paola Miranda-Rosa, who was last seen in the alligator-infested Wekiva River in Florida. Also missing in January 2022 is Marnie Clayton, an 18-year-old from Bracknell in the UK. The cases have drawn considerable attention as the Gabby Petito case is still fresh in many people's minds. The FBI officially closed the case on January 21, confirming that Brian Laundrie confessed to killing Petito, before taking his own life.

In a similar fashion to that of Petito's family, Gabe's friends and family have launched a social media blitz to help find out what happened to her. Oakley Police have confirmed they have begun an investigation and noted she vanished under "suspicious circumstances".

Where is Alexis Gabe?

A resident of Oakley, the 24-year-old was last seen in Antioch, reportedly with an unidentified male acquaintance. Her silver sedan was found on January 27, a day after she was last seen on Trenton Street. Mysteriously, the car was unlocked and still had its keys inside. It's now been a few days, and she hasn't contacted her family which is what prompted the police action. A Facebook group to coordinate the civilian search has been set up, with community members helping search for Gabe since January 30, but with little luck. Gabe's disappearance has also caught the attention of local media, with KTVU Fox 2 News running a segment on January 29.

The family has also set up a GoFundMe to raise the funds needed to coordinate the searches. At the time of reporting, the effort has raised $3,740 of its $15,000 goal. "Any support would be helpful in allowing friends and family to continue efforts to search for her whereabouts, including production of flyers, food, and other materials needed by volunteers," the page says. According to both these sources, Gabe was last seen wearing a white tank top, black jeans, and pair of green and white Jordans. She is described as an Asian female who is 5-foot-7 and weighs 170 pounds.

Speaking about the case, a cousin of Gab's told Mercury News, "We just want to make sure that if she is still out there, that her family and friends care about her and that we want her home safely." If anyone has any information, they are requested to reach out to Oakley Police at 925-625-8060. Beyond confirming that a case has been opened, Oakley Police have not said anything else so far.
