Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez rejects Ted Cruz's support about Robinhood app hearing; 'You almost had me murdered'
Just when social media was going wild about Ted Cruz and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) uniting for a cause, the Democrat Congresswoman shut down any speculation that she would be working with the Republican senator over investigating trading apps like Robinhood placing restrictions on the trading of GameStop and other Reddit stock picks by individual retail investors.
"I am happy to work with Republicans on this issue where there’s common ground, but you almost had me murdered 3 weeks ago so you can sit this one out. Happy to work w/ almost any other GOP that aren’t trying to get me killed. In the meantime if you want to help, you can resign," she said at the start of a fiery tweet thread attacking Cruz. In the same tweet thread, she added: "You haven’t even apologized for the serious physical + mental harm you contributed to from Capitol Police & custodial workers to your own fellow members of Congress. In the meantime, you can get off my timeline & stop clout-chasing. Thanks. Happy to work with other GOP on this."

Congressional reporter Chris Cioffi tweeted Ted Cruz's response to AOC's attack via Twitter. "Cruz response to @AOC tweet: "You know, there's a lot of partisan anger and rage on the Democratic side. It's, it's not healthy for our country, it's certainly not conducive of healing or unity, but everyone has to decide how they want to interact with others." via hill pool". Cruz has chosen not to confront AOC via social media channels directly.
However, AOC also did not mince words, linking to Cioffi's tweet and writing: "Oh, there’s anger? Now why would there be anger that Cruz amplified known lies about our election that fueled an insurrection that cost ppl’s lives? What does he think the logical response to his lies should be? A hug? Maybe there’s anger bc his actions deserve accountability."

Earlier in the day, AOC had tweeted about Robinhood app's decision to block retail investors from buying the stocks they wanted: "This is unacceptable. We now need to know more about @RobinhoodApp’s decision to block retail investors from purchasing stock while hedge funds are freely able to trade the stock as they see fit. As a member of the Financial Services Cmte, I’d support a hearing if necessary", to which Senator Ted Cruz had replied: "Fully agree," with AOC's tweet embedded in his post.
AOC also made it clear that she not only reserved her ire for Ted Cruz but also other GOP members who put out similar statements about unity after encouraging violence. "'We need healing + unity, but I will not take any responsibility for my actions, nor will I acknowledge the contributions my lies made to the violence or the harm that it caused, nor do I believe anyone should be held accountable. But if you’re mad at that you’re divisive.' - GOP."
