Actor Alec Baldwin has said that President Donald J Trump could use armed force to stop the upcoming November election. Baldwin is basing his claim on the Department of Homeland Security's decision to deploy federal agents in Portland, Oregon to suppress and subdue violent rioters, Breitbart reveals.

Baldwin took to Twitter to share, "The ‘police’ activity in Portland, and lack of outrage over/resistance to it tells us how Trump could stop the election in November. It’s his only hope."

He also linked an article that was published by Esquire written by Charles P. Pierce who said that the federal move could be a "dress rehearsal" for November.

Social media users seemed to be in agreement with Baldwin. One such user wrote, "It is very scary ~ and why anyone thinks a regular ol' 'fair' election is coming up... I refuse to fall into uncalled for fearmongering but in our country's case there are definite signs far too many are ignoring."

"AMEN! The FOURTH REICH is "dominating the battle space" with FEDERAL SS STORMTROOPERS. Perhaps they are rehearsing for November at the behest of COMRADE BARR and the IMPEACHED, FAILED, CORONAVIRUS-AWOL "president". Nonetheless: REMEMBER LAFAYETTE SQUARE! REMEMBER PORTLAND!" wrote another.

Patricia and Rosanna Arquette shared that the federal agents are "secret police" who use "Gestapo" tactics. Patricia Arquette had written on Twitter, "Trump is turning America into a true shithole country. Where Americans are being hunted by secret police who are tossing US citizens into rented vans and refusing to identify themselves."

In Portland, DHS Officers had moved to subdue rioters after the Head of the Department of Homeland Security had visited the Oregon city and had also called the protesters "violent anarchists".

DHS acting secretary Chad Wolf said that officers were "assaulted with lasers and frozen water bottles from violent criminals attempting to tear down federal property. 2 officers were injured."

However, the demonstrators had maintained that they were "peaceful". Wolf had written on Twitter, "Let’s get this right. “Protestors” imply they were peacefully exercising their 1st amendment rights. Instead, DHS officers were assaulted with lasers and frozen water bottles from violent criminals attempting to tear down federal property. 2 officers were injured. Facts matter."

The tactics used by the department came under scrutiny after a video showed a suspect being taken away into custody in an unmarked vehicle. DHS said that Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents had information that the suspect had reportedly assaulted agents or destroyed property.

Some reports claimed that agents had not been wearing any identifying clothing but the DHS did not agree with this. They released a statement where they said, "The CBP agents identified themselves and were wearing CBP insignia during the encounter."

"The names of the agents were not displayed due to recent doxing incidents against law enforcement personnel who serve and protect our country," the statement continued.

Ever since the death of George Floyd who died after a former Minneapolis cop knelt on his neck for almost eight minutes, there have been nationwide protests. Portland had seen a wave of protests and rioting in May.
