Why did Alan Kim cry? 'Minari' actor wins big at Critics Choice awards 2021, Internet says 'nothing will top this'
Happy tears took on a whole new level of cuteness as 'Minari' actor Alan Kim couldn't quite contain the joy of winning Best Young Actor/Actress at the Critics Choice awards. He was presented the award by 'Wonder Woman' star Gal Gadot. Alan's fellow nominees included Ryder Allen( Palmer), Ibrahima Gueye (The Life Ahead), Talia Ryder (Never Rarely Sometimes Always), Caoilinn Springall (The Midnight Sky) and Helena Zengel (News of the World). Alan didn't just walk away with the award, but with hearts as well.
In 'Minari', 8-year-old Alan Kim plays the role of David, the youngest son of a Korean family, who is uprooted to a remote farm in Arkansas. The film follows a family of South Korean immigrants in the 1980’s who try to find their version of the American dream in rural Arkansas.

But while Kim clearly has won over a legion of international fans with his cuteness, some were disappointed that Helena Zengel who stars in 'News of the World' didn't walk away with an award. One fan on Twitter said, "Frankly surprised that Zengel didn't win after she's been getting real nominations but Alan Kim. Well deserved win."

A well-deserved win indeed and also in our opinion the reaction that deserves the biggest prize as well.
