Ahmaud Arbery's mother, Wanda Cooper Jones, drove three hours to get to cast her vote during the ongoing elections. Wanda revealed that she is still registered in Glynn County, although the family moved from there following Ahmaud's death. She decided to commemorate her young son's tragic death by returning to the same spot where he was brutally gunned down and casting her vote for Joe Biden.

Wanda surprised quite a few people when she shared that she voted for Biden. Despite having met Donald Trump and discussed the matter of Ahmaud's death, and also the subject of race-related issues. At that time, when she met Trump, she had nothing but glowing reviews about the President, and how he heard her out patiently. She even reported that he was compassionate and receptive to what she had to say. The respect was mutual, as Ivanka Trump and her father tweeted about their interaction with Wanda, and praised Ahmaud and her.

But looks like over the months, she has lost her faith in Trump. According to TMZ, Wanda is reportedly not pleased with Trump's comments about the Black Lives Matter movement, and how he is handling the situation. She felt that he wasn't doing anything to help out the people. Trump's abysmal handling of the Covid-19 pandemic, and his lack of empathy for families that lost their members to the deadly pandemic, was the last straw for Wanda. After observing Trump's callous behavior, she decided to vote for Biden, whose ideas and values seem to align more closely with that of Ahmaud and hers. She also shared that Ahmaud would have wanted her to vote for Biden.

After voting for Biden, Wendy proudly showed off her "I Voted" sticker, and was also sporting Justice for Ahmaud shirt in memory of him. In February, 25-year-old Ahmaud was gunned down in Brunswick City, Georgia. Ahmaud was jogging in the neighborhood when three residents Travis McMichael, Gregory and Willian Bryan began following him in their vehicles. Ahmaud was later confronted and shot by Travis. Despite knowing the culprits, the investigation continued at a very slow pace, and arrests of several people transpired. The delayed investigation and arrests of the suspects sparked the topic of racial inequality in the United States.
