'AGT' Season 19: Watch Simon Cowell apologize to father-son duo from Balloon Taro
PASADENA, CALIFORNIA: The father-son team Balloon Taro, who usually performed for children, was the last act of July 9 audition of the 'America's Got Talent' Season 9. By the end of the virtually everyone-surprised act, Simon Cowell had also conceded his error.
During the audition, several balloons burst, resulting in Simon hitting his red X buzzer. However, Taro persevered and completed his entire performance, which involved jumping up ladders while inside a gigantic balloon and then descending as his son struck the podium with a mallet.
One thing about Balloon Taro … he doesn’t pop under pressure 😜🎈 Sooo much fun! #AGT pic.twitter.com/Axvlgdi2Yc

The father displayed his excellent body while only wearing his underpants. After dousing him with water, his kid vanished behind the scenes.
Then, a gigantic balloon materialized on stage, and he went inside. The balloon burst as he was jumping around, but he got back up and tried again.
The balloon burst once again, but he managed to hop numerous stools inside of it on the third attempt, which turned out to be lucky.
Simon acknowledged that he pressed his red "X" button prematurely. The three judges expressed disapproval of Simon buzzing them off.
Simon said that he hit it "a bit early" and requested that it be taken down. Simon told them he didn't believe it would work, but once they succeeded, he changed his mind and found it to be "amazing."
"I didn't think the act was going to work... and then, it was amazing," Simon said.
Simon Cowell joined fellow 'AGT' Season 19 judges to send Balloon Taro through
Sofía Vergara found it amusing and imaginative, which is why she liked it. "It was funny, it was creative, it was unbelievable," Sofia stated.
The fact that they put the show together as a father and son pleased Heidi Klum. "Honestly, it was really really entertaining," she stated.
Howie Mandel continued, calling it "funny" and "entertaining."
In the end, Simon was content to vote "yes" along with the other judges to move them on.
'AGT' Season 19 fans unamused by Balloon Taro's audition
Even though it was a success for the father-son duo not many seemed to have appreciated it. Soon after their act wrapped, fans took to social media to write, "THIS is talent? Simon and the other producers have to do better than THIS!" Another person chimed in, "No shade but this was so bad these judges are just fans lmao!"

One user claimed, "I'VE SEEN MUCH BETTER CLIMB IN BALLOON ACTS ON YOUTUBE!!!" Another added, "I would have put through the stunt guy who couldn't shoot the arrow through the ring over this guy. At least the attempted stunts were entertaining. This was...... not a million dollar act."
