PASADENA, CALIFORNIA: Chrisyius Whitehead, a five-year-old drummer from Florida, delivered a performance that garnered rave reviews. Despite his talent, viewers couldn't overlook his age and criticized NBC for featuring such a young performer.

Chrisyius stated that if he won the $1 million, he would donate it to those less fortunate than himself. When asked what he planned to do with his share, he cheerfully replied that he would buy "200 bags of slime."

Heidi Klum quipped that she liked how you could create a slime "fart in your hands." Chrisyius proved to be not only a delightful child but also an exceptional drummer.

However, noting his tender age, fans on X expressed mixed reactions. One user wrote, "I am impressed, but it’s not a million dollar act. KIDS LIKE HIM NEEDS SCHOOL. and education stuff like that." While another user felt, "they have an unfair advantage called the “Cutesy Vote”."

One user argued, " I'm not impressed. Pitiful act to start tonight's show. They need t have an AGT Kids." Another added, "The Season of Daycare I guess."

One user wrote, "We're off to a terrible start. No children acts on AGT!" Another suggested, "They need to have a junior edition for AGT to be honest … TAKE NOTES NETWORK."

Simon Cowell calls 'AGT's Chrisyius Whitehead 'coolest person on the planet'

Howie Mandel asked Chrisyius if he felt he performed well. When Chrisyius answered yes, Howie added, "No, you did great!"

Simon Cowell disagreed, saying that he believed Chrisyius was excellent rather than great. "You are the coolest person on the planet right now," said Simon.

Heidi mentioned that he was better than most adults. The five-year-old drummer scored four yes votes from the judges!

Who is Chrisyius Whitehead in 'AGT' Season 19?

Chrisyius was born in January 2019 to Chris and Dawandrea Whitehead. Chris, in particular, is a pastor. Chrisyius has been raised in the church since birth, and according to his father, he has been playing the drums on special occasions for quite some time. He is already well-known online within gospel circles.

Chrisyius rose to prominence on the internet after posting a TikTok video where he drummed along to a praise hymn with his siblings (Ki'Marie, CJ, and Christian) while driving in the car with their father. Chrisyius does not have his own TikTok account, but the popular video was uploaded to his family's account.

'AGT' producers reached out to Chrisyius Whitehead's family for the little drummer to audition

If you wish to be considered for 'AGT', you must first pass several requirements. When it came to Chrisyius, the 'AGT' producers contacted his family to get him on the program for Season 19.

The producers were ecstatic with what they saw, and Chrisyius and his family soon found themselves on the 'AGT' stage.

"[I thought] it was a scam, so I ignored them, BUT a little while passed and they reached out again. After speaking with them, my husband and I prayed about it for a little while and decided to accept the offer…" said Dawandrea, Chrisyius’ mother.
