Julia Holcomb: Aerosmith fans slam Steven Tyler after he's accused of ‘sexual assault of minor’
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Aerosmith fans were shocked after the band's frontman Steven Tyler was accused of sexual assault, sexual battery, and intentional infliction of emotional distress in a new lawsuit from a woman who has previously claimed the same. Tyler, in his memoirs, has also hinted toward something similar. It's alleged that the rockstar once adopted a 16-year-old "groupie" and then dated her for three years while he was her guardian.
The plaintiff, Julia Holcomb, has previously written about the same in one of her blogs. The lawsuit, according to Rolling Stone, does not name the Aerosmith frontman directly, but identifies him as 'Defendant Doe,' and quotes directly from Tyler's 2011 memoir, 'Does the Noise in My Head Bother You?', describing the relationship. Tyler writes that he "almost took a teen bride" and that "her parents fell in love with me, signed a paper over for me to have custody, so I wouldn’t get arrested if I took her out of state. I took her on tour with me." While Holcomb was not named in the memoir, she was named in the acknowledgement. Holcomb also alleged that Tyler got her pregnant in 1975 when she was 17 and later got an abortion at Tyler’s insistence.

Holcomb alleges that she first met Tyler when he was 25 and she was 16 after Aerosmith played a concert in Portland, Oregon, in 1973. He allegedly took Holcomb back to her hotel and asked about her age before he proceeded to "perform various acts of criminal sexual conduct upon" her. He then allegedly booked flight tickets for her for Aerosmith's next show in Seattle after which he repeated the drill. The timeline matches Tyler's memoir where he writes, "She was sixteen, she knew how to nasty, and there wasn’t a hair on it. With my bad self being twenty-six and she barely old enough to drive and sexy as hell, I just fell madly in love with her. She was a cute skinny little tomboy dressed up as Little Bo Peep. She was my heart’s desire, my partner in crimes of passion."
Internet shocked after Steven Tyler accused of sexually assaulting minor
Many social media users have not responded kindly to these allegations. One Reddit user said, "The craziest part to me is he didn’t even try to hide it, writing about it in two books. That just blows my mind. I hope she can find some peace and healing" Another user wrote, "Seriously I'm glad they waived the statute of limitations for such cases and kudos to the people who fought to make it happen so other victims could be heard" One more Reddit user wrote, "I was so happy to find out that she has the opportunity to do this. You could tell, even in a fairly recent interview, that she was still traumatized by what happened. Hope she wins."
