Big news for AC/DC fans: the legendary rock and roll band has announced an entirely new album. Titled 'Power Up', the new studio LP and their 17th in total, will mark their first full-length project in six years, following 'Rock or Bust'. The forthcoming record is scheduled for a release on November 13, 2020.

Along with its release, 'Power Up', collectors and die-hard fans can also look forward to exclusive merch, including a limited edition lightbox, digital downloads, CD, and deluxe versions. "‘POWER UP’ OUT NOVEMBER 13. LIMITED EDITION DELUXE LIGHTBOX, CD, VINYL & DIGITAL DOWNLOAD AVAILABLE FOR PRE-ORDER. “SHOT IN THE DARK” AVAILABLE NOW," the group wrote on Instagram during the early hours of October 7, along with 'Power Up' cover art.

The limited edition, deluxe 'Power Up' lightbox is the ultimate fan package. Pressing the button on the side of the box lights up a flashing neon AC/DC logo while the opening bars of 'Shot In The Dark' blast out of the built-in speaker. Inside the box is the full CD package in a soft-pack with a 20-page booklet that features exclusive photos and a charging cable that allows the box to remain powered up and on display.

Fans are losing their minds over the announcement. "Who knew the comeback would be this good 🔥 🤟🏽," said a fan on Instagram. On Twitter, one fan said "The best thing to happen in 2020!" while another wrote, "Yessss! Rock n roll will never die!!"

With their new single, 'Shot In The Dark', fans are already hailing the album as a success. One fan shared, 'Hell yeah. Shot in the dark slapsssss. Awesome song." One fan added, "This song KICKS ASS." Fans have also started pre-ordering. One fan wrote, "Badly needed this today! Love it. Vintage AC/DC!"

'Shot In The Dark' dropped today with the news of the album on October 7, 2020 at 3 pm. It will be the band's first single released since 2014's 'Rock or Bust'. The song and new album features the lineup of Angus Young [lead guitar], Brian Johnson [lead vocals], Cliff Williams [bass guitar], Phil Rudd [drums], and Stevie Young [rhythm guitar].

In an interview with Rolling Stone, guitarist Angus Young describes the new record, which is a special tribute to his brother. "This record is pretty much a dedication to Malcolm, my brother," the rockstar said. “It’s a tribute for him like 'Back in Black' was a tribute to Bon Scott."

Scott died in 1980, which led AC/DC to recruit vocalist Brian Johnson. The singer took on the role of frontman in the band until 2016 when it was announced that he was stepping away due to hearing loss. Johnson, along with bassist Cliff Williams and drummer Phil Rudd, is now officially back in AC/DC, and we are certainly powered up for their reunion.
