LITTLE KILTON, BUCKINGHAMSHIRE: Pippa Fitz-Amobi, aka Pip's (Emma Myers) shrewd investigating skills, have finally paid off, as the real murderer of Andie Bell (India Lillie Davies) has been exposed, and yes, the perpetrator is the one you least think about.
Based on Holly Jackson's book of the same name, the show follows Pip as she embarks on an investigative journey to expose the real killer of Andie, who was murdered five years ago.
Additionally, Andie's boyfriend, Salil Singh (Rahul Pattni), who was accused of her murder, was found dead after committing suicide.
Pip, sensing something odd, begins investigating the case as part of a school project and as she gets closer to discovering the truth, the murderer begins to threaten her, and in a devastating scene, her dog, Barney, is slain.
Determined to identify the true culprit, Pip confronts Elliot Ward (Mathew Baynton), who admits to having an affair with Andie but denies any participation in her death, leaving Pip mystified about the perpetrator.

Pip, who suspected Andie was kidnapped and kept alive, discovers that Elliot is hiding something sinister in his attic.
In a shocking turn of events, she finds a disheveled girl, Isla Jordan (Georgia Lock), who shares a striking resemblance with Andie but is not her. The girl said that Elliot had discovered Isla rough sleeping and gave her a place to stay, but after drunkenly admitting to Salil's murder, he confined her in the attic when she attempted to escape.
Elliot was also shown to have had a crucial part in Andie's death; after an altercation over their affair, he shoved her, forcing her to bang her head on the countertop and incur a fatal injury.
Later, desperate to reveal the true culprit, Pip visits Elliot in prison and tells him that she believes he did not kill Andie since Elliot was not in the town on the day of her dog Barney's death, slimming the chances of him using intimidating methods to get back at Pip.
Elliot then tells Pip that Andie once divulged about her father Jason Bell's (Matthew Chambers) overbearing demeanor and that when he went to seek Andie in the woods, he drove by in his blue van, leading Pip to suspect the man of murdering her daughter.

Pip heads to the garage to investigate further and discovers a blue van but as she discovers Jason suspecting someone on the premise, she hides into the van.
She is saved by Jesse Walker (Oliver Wickham), who reveals that Jason used to control her daughters, Andie and Becca Bell (Carla Woodcock), who were wild children and used to party hard.
Jesse tells Pip that Becca was sexually raped at a party before Andie and Salil's murders, providing Pip with a fresh lead in the case. Pip finds a letter in Andie's soft toy revealing that a customer called TT purchased Rohypnol from her, which identifies Max Hastings (Henry Ashton) as TT.
She tapes Max admitting to drugging and attacking Becca and later pays a visit to Becca, who poisons her tea.

Becca confesses to being raped by Max and says that Andie, who was aware of the situation and had intended to leave town, begged her to stay silent since she supplied drugs to him.
After a scuffle, Andie got a concussion and choked on her vomit, which Becca observed.
Becca then leads Pip to the place where she concealed Andie's corpse but Pip soon realizes that Becca has poisoned her tea with Rohypnol.
On the other hand, Ravi Singh (Zain Iqbal) realizes Pip is gone and works with Cara to track her down and discovers Pip in a septic tank, Becca confronts her, but Pip pushes her away and attempts to flee.
Cara and Ravi rescue Pip just in time and a dream of Pip shows Salil asking for Andie's whereabouts from her little version, where Andie is seen tensed because of her father but Sal pledging to assist Andie financially.
Later, Pip's mother is delighted with her EPQ and supports her college decision. Pip approaches Max, labeling him a rapist and promising retribution for Becca.
The show ends with Pip and Ravi kissing by the lake.
