AUSTIN, TEXAS: In a one-of-its-kind reunion, a Texas dog who had been missing for seven years was found abandoned in a Florida hotel room. Unable to even walk, ‘Jazzy’ is back to its owner’s arm after Orange County Animal Services officers received a report about a dog left behind in a hotel room and responded. According to their Facebook post, the officer at the scene noticed that the dog "could barely walk", apparently from "a bad case of arthritis". However, he still was "extremely sweet and gentle".

The dog’s rescuers believed the dog to be somewhere between 9 and 10 years old, and unlikely to find an adopter due to her health concerns. Interestingly, Orange County Animal Services didn’t have to worry about finding a new home for ‘Jazzy’, as the officers scanned her for a microchip to get possible information about an owner. Fortunately, they did and it led them to Texas. "When we called them, we gave them the surprise of a lifetime," the agency shared on social media about the dog. On the call, the officers found that the dog was a 12-year-old pet, who ran away from home after getting scared of fireworks seven years ago.

"The family was unable to find her anywhere. They searched for her for a long time, and even after seven years, they never gave up hope," added Orange County Animal Services. While it is still unclear how Jazzy ended up in Florida, her family doesn't care as long as Jazzy is back in their lives. After hearing that his dog was alive and safe, Jazzy's owner booked a plane ticket to Florida and picked the dog up on Saturday, reported People.

Though it is difficult to find how ‘Jazzy’ managed to reach Florida, the owner was more than happy to rush back to his pooh and flew to pick it up on Saturday, December 10. "Jazzy couldn't take her eyes off him," Orange County Animal Services wrote on social media about their heartwarming reunion.

"She licked his hand again and again and inched her body as close as could to him. Our staff and volunteers have to endure heartache and heartbreak every day. Every now and then, though, we get to watch something like this, and it makes every minute worth it. If we could bottle this type of love and give it to every adopter, we would," concluded the agency.
