62% Americans think Trump would have stopped Putin, 38% think they're idiots

'When 62% of Americans think Putin wouldn’t have invaded Ukraine if Trump was in charge, probably because they think Trump would’ve done it for him'

With Joe Biden struggling to thwart Putin's invasion of Ukraine, many Americans asserted that former President Donald Trump would have handled the situation more efficiently. A recent poll conducted by Harvard Center for American Political Studies reveals that over 62% of US citizens feel that Putin would not have dared to invade Ukraine if Trump was still President. More interestingly, the participants in favor of Trump comprise 85% Republicans and 39% Democrat voters.

Meanwhile, around one-third of the American population (38% to be more precise) agreed that Putin would have invaded Ukraine anyway regardless of who is the US President. The Harris poll took over social media as soon as the results were published, but managed to irk many for the "gibberish results". Liberal political segment Palmer Report urged users to "ignore the poll" as they noted, "It includes Trump fans AND those of us who understand Putin wouldn’t have had to do this if his puppet Trump were still in office."

The Harris Poll survey further estimated that 59% of Americans think Putin launched the attack in the first place due to Biden's weakness. On the other hand, 41% of US residents felt the POTUS did not contribute to Putin's decision to launch the Ukraine offensive.

Over the past few days, the Biden administration has garnered a lot of criticism for their diplomatic blunders that led up to the war in Ukraine. Biden was particularly slammed for failing to provide military assistance to Ukrainians on time that might have thwarted the attack on February 23, 2022.

A recent exposé by New York Times also revealed that the Biden admin shared classified intel on Russian troops with Chinese officials in the hopes of joining hands with Beijing to stop Putin. However, China, which happens to be one of Russia's most powerful allies, eventually relayed the intel to Moscow, putting US in a precarious position.

Alongside rising demands to impeach Biden, a majority of US citizens chose to compliment former President Trump, as they felt he had the power to stop Putin's advances. The Harvard poll pinpoints the same with statistical data.

However, the 62% of Americans in support of Trump were brutally trolled by the others on social media. "62% of Americans have suffered so much brainwashing that they now have brain damage. Apparently they believed Trump would’ve stopped Putin from invading Ukraine. I can’t make this sh*t up," one user tweeted.

Another joked, "When 62% of Americans in some “poll” think Putin wouldn’t have invaded Ukraine if Trump was in charge, it’s probably because they think Trump would’ve done it for him."

"100% of Americans know that Trump is in Putin’s pocket… 62% of Americans have no idea what that even means," tweeted a third user, while a fourth one added, "The poll was less than 2,000 of the total amount of eligible voters in a country of over 180 million voters. Basically a propaganda nothing burger."
