On tonight's (April 2) episode of '60 Days In' we see something more than friendship brewing between undercover captain Heather and her fellow inmate Betsy at the Etowah County Jail.

Heather is aware that Betsy has been around the facility for a long time and knows the inner workings of the jail. Initially, she thought that she would build her friendship to get more intel regarding the problems plaguing the facility. For a couple of days, she was using their friendship for her benefit but she soon realized that Betsy might be developing feelings for her. Both of them have been flirting for a while now and a sense of guilt seems to be taking over Heather. Yet, she continues spending a lot of time bonding with Betsy.

After a point, Heather tells Betsy that she enjoys spending time with her with the latter admitting that she is developing feelings for her. Later, Heather admits to the producers that they have been talking about things people in a relationship talk about. Heather knows fully well that the way things are going between them, things might progress.

Things turn out just like how the former predicted when both women go into a cell for some alone time but Heather pulls away mid-kiss citing reasons that someone might see them and it might lead to trouble for both.

Heather later tells the producers that coming into the show, she was prepared to use her sexuality to her benefit and try to dig up more dirt about the loopholes in the jail. But when it came to Betsy, she chose to draw a line as Betsy was a good person in her opinion with no greys in her personality. Heather made it clear that she was uncomfortable doing anything to hurt someone like Betsy but at the same time she was worried that the latter's suspicions might crop back up and her cover might be blown.

In the men's pod, Tony continues to be his cocky self, bossing inmates around and trying too hard to sustain the notorious reputation that he's worked so hard building. He is collecting as many shanks and drugs he could get his hands on and selling it to inmates at a price he deems feasible.

The episode also sees the entry of a new inmate. Everyone is intimidated by this 6'6" tall guy who is also covered in tattoos. On his arrival, Tony feels that he might challenge his power and is gearing up to show him who's the boss if the need arises.

Later in the episode, it looks like the guys might butt heads because Champagne refuses to pay for some soup and a honey bun that he purchased from Tony. Tony also invites Champagne inside his cell to 'talk'. Tensions soar but it all soon fizzles out when Champagne pays up. They then put up a skit outside his cell where Tony is fake screaming and telling Champagne that no one goes without paying him and the latter just plays along.

Champagne later is engaged in a physical fight with a fellow inmate where the former gives the latter a black eye but the correctional officers don't bother to break up the fight or contain either of the inmates. At the end of the episode, Champagne tries to lighten the mood in jail and uses an unused bed to stair-surf, making everyone laugh. This time the CO asks him to come down and tells him that he will be locked down for two days for indiscipline, unmasking yet another ugly reality of how things function in the Etowah County Jail.

'60 Days In' airs Thursday nights on A&E.
