'60 Days In': Fans appreciate Tony's efforts at being a convict, but some want him beaten up for being too cocky

A new episode in phase two of '60 Days In' premiered on Thursday night. It was the second episode featuring a new team of undercover inmates in the Etowah County Detention Center.

In the previous episode, we saw Tony, a Fulton County corrections officer, draw in a lot of negative attention to himself. From trying to rob a man in intake to hanging out with the camera crew in the common area, his antics caused a lot of concern to Sheriff Jonathan Horton who's at the helm of this operation.

Fans of the show as well were in complete disapproval of his overconfidence, finding it off-putting to a point that they felt like not watching the show. "Tony needs to take it down a notch. He’s unbearable. His cocky attitude makes me not want to watch. Can’t believe I’m saying this but he’s worse than Dennis #60daysin" tweeted a fan last week. This is just one instance but fans of the show were united on this front and in agreement that his attitude is not working for them.

In this week's episode, Tony had his God-like attitude in full display. He even got himself a do-boy named Chad who followed him around the facility and carried out all his orders. "He's definitely a do-boy. He do everything but make my bed and wash my drawers," said Tony.

"I have been in the pod only for a couple days but its very clear to me that Chad is Tony's bi**h. Anything Tony tells Chad to do, he does," said Donovan, an undercover officer who didn't seem very pleased with Tony's behavior towards  Chad.

"Tony's familiar with the jail system.. he knows how the insides of the justice system works.  I think it was smart for him to take somebody like Chad and get him to work for him.. Because that put Tony in a position of kind of a power within the pod but taking advantage of an individual like that I wouldn't feel okay having somebody do that for me because being a law enforcement officer, standing up for the underdog, standing up for the low man is what my job is..," he continued.

At one point Tony wanted a crossword puzzle book but he said he's too good to go get it himself and sent Tony instead to steal it, knowing fully well that if caught, he might land in danger and it did happen. Chad got caught and sent to solitary confinement for this act.

Tony might be very arrogant and trying way too hard to give off a feel of a seasoned convict leading to him attracting a lot of hate but this time around fans are divided and it looks like his cockiness is growing well on them and they're now seeing him in a different light altogether, rooting for him in the process.

"I can't believe the mental gymnastics that Tony goes through to justify being a complete piece of shit. I'm actively rooting for him to get his ass beat," wrote one fan on a Reddit thread.

"Tony is a major asshole but he’s getting shit done 💯 don’t like that he took advantage of that dude but he set himself up to be a “do boy” and didn’t mind going and playing swiper." wrote another fan who was mighty impressed with how well Tony was fitting around in the jail atmosphere and acing the portrayal of a convict down to a T.

"I see nothing wrong with Tony going "method" with his role as an inmate. Also, Chad is a grown a** man and chose to be Tony's "do-boy" in exchange for protection. This is jail. There's nothing wrong with that #60DaysIn," wrote another fan who saw nothing wrong with Tony listing Chad as his do-boy.

Do you think Tony will tone it down in the coming episodes? Let us know in the comments.
